Expecting another L here, to be honest, this team simply can't win on the road and i expect Embiid to murder us.

philly could obviously beat us, but they are really bad. more talent then us for sure but horribly coaches and horribly developed with a ton of distractions. i think this is a game we win because we come in and play hard for 48 minutes and they lose focus.

You do love to pick on the Sixers about the culture thing, etc. I've loved those comments exposing them.

I am not even sure if they're badly coached or if they are so used to losing that they are just trying stuff out for kicks - like this Okfor/Embiid pairing. And of course they have a third young big mouthing off. It's very strange what they have been doing... but such is the NBA that they have so many high picks that chances are one or two will pan out. They have their own pick, the Lakers pick, the Kings '19 pick. They are loaded with chances. In a way I wish the NBA would put a cap on how much a team can tank and be bad. The same bad teams should not be rewarded year after year after year. /rant over

Rough schedule coming up for the Nets, this is a game they need to win.

the thing is... every year they get a new top 3 pick, is another year one of their prior picks depreciates in value...

they already shipped out MCW for peanuts after being RoTY. now it looks like Noels value is in the toilet as well and worse he is unhappy and they arent playing him much. so that could be a second lotto pick that goes wayside. Okafor is likely next with simmons probably playing alot fo smallball 4 and embiid healthy...

They could have gotten quality veterans for those young pieces... but didnt because it would prevent them from tanking. instead they just let the value of those lotto picks they made on those guys depreciate to the point of being worth peanuts. the only time ive ever seen tanking work is two instances:

1) the spurs having david robinson hurt, tanking for ONE year while they already had a good roster, getting a top 5 all-time nba player in duncan and pariting him with another top 30 all time guy in robinson.

2) OKC who got not 1, not 2, but 3 top 5 NBA players in one draft. that is beyond unprecidented and id be suprised to see it ever happen again. its unlikely to even have 3 top 5 guys in three straight drafts, let aloneit all going to one team and not once having it be a #1 pick. philly has hit on ONE of those types, let alone 3.

It will take ALOT more then just hitting on the next stud. look at new orleands (david top5 player) or the wolves (hit homeruns with wiggins/levine/towns). they dont need to just hit on stars, they need a super mega star to turn it around (lebron/durant/jobe/shaq type). and those guys are typically once a generation.

They are already in year 4 of a tank. even if they had on 2 studs in this draft and eveything went lucky for them and they had the future roster they would still probably just be were minnesota is now, which is probably 2-4 seasons away.

they need a coach, they need veterans and its unlikely guys are attracted to such a dismal situation. they would be smart to do things how the celtics have.... tons of assets but still build towards winning. unless embiid becomes olojuwon and simmons becomes tmac i dont think there is a high likelyhood they even make the playoffs the next 3-4 years

Philly has tanking build into their culture, no amount of talent will able to turn them around. Winning is a mindset. Without install a winning mindset, they will be losing forever.

This is true which is why we need to focus on winning now. Let's ride Brook-Lin and start a culture of winning today!

Some nice discussion, just wondering how is Brett Brown a bad coach?

Why is Dinwiddie inactive in today's game?

CBA rules. You can only have 13 players on the active list in each game. So if everyone on a 15 player roster is healthy, that means 2 players must be designated prior as inactive for that game.

CMC is on D-League assignment so he's one, and I guess Dinwiddle got assigned the other inactive slot.
