So according to SVG, when Ish was our starting PG, we struggled to score the ball, except that i think because our defense was so good, we didn't necessarily need to. I read that as, no matter who the starting pg is, there needs to be change to that starting unit and its the forwards as Leur is clearly the best pf. Its a matter of who's the better sf between mook and Harris.
I also noticed that without Beno, we don't have a midrange scorer from the PG position. Beno's ability to pull up off the PnR and make teams pay for sagging hard on a rolling Dre is clearly missed. Ish made up for that by keeping the play alive with the dribble when it wasn't there and only putting up the shot if he needed too.
If I am SVG, and i am in a vacuum where emotions don't matter, i bench RJ and Harris for Smith and Leur and rotate them in. Each game a player will separate himself from the rotation and SVG simply just goes with whom ever is playing better. While maybe not reality, if we are winning, players normally aren't b* about touches but rather how they can contribute to continuing winning.

neither is harden technically. but in a era of positionless basketball, you are what you can guard and when it comes to PG responsibiilties , KCP over a decent sample has shown the ability to appropriately read and react in the PnR offense and is probably our best if not one of our best distributors in our transition offense.
KCP isn't a PG, but he can run a offense. Ish can bring the ball up , set the offense up and push/distribute in transition.

Cowology wrote:... we need somebody on the court to be a leader and call Reggie on it. It can't just be SVG - his peers need to be vocal about calling for the ball and harping on ball movement. I don't care if it's Mook, KCP or whomever, but we still don't have any real on the court leadership.
Looks like I hit the nail on the head. Glad to see Baynes and Mook step up.
