What a great night it'll be with the retirement, and it SHOULD be a fairly easy win for us; let's hope so, as a loss would sap some of the energy from the ceremony.

I just saw Manu pull a crossover and finish a layup with his right hand like it was 2007. I'm done for the night

LMA playing well tonight finally.
Can't say enough how much of a man crush I have on David Lee. If he stays healthy we are going to be dangerous.

I had no idea Lee could dribble or pass the way he does. Not to mention (as Elliot has said a few times during games) his absolute textbook moves down low. Back down, spin, bank. So talented, I am eating my words on him during the preseason.

Stat of the day:

San Antonio has 30 alley-oop dunks in 26 games this season. They had 18 all of last season.

Good win and a just a great night for the franchise.

I will now associate carrot cake with Tim Duncan.

I might be reaching here but I'm thinking Pop might not like Aldridge or respect him enough because he seems to be the only player on the team not to get yelled out and coached during games. I've watched most games this year and I don't remember once where we see the angry (yet constructive) Pop we all know going hard at LMA.

Is Pop being nice because Aldridge was such a rare get for the team? Or is Aldridge struggling with stuff off the court that Pop isn't pushing it during games? Or does he just not have that same rapport and desire to get the best out of him?

He also seemed a bit, I don't know, maybe like an 'about time' he played well during the post game comments.

I do like that he went strong at the defense today. He is a much better player when he works inside, then out, rather than sitting outside all game and rarely taking it in. He showed some good strength and strong moves with very little of his signature hesitation and pump fakes tonight it was great to see.

On the other hand, it means Kawhi barely got the ball, so I'm not sure if that's a good thing.

And man, how good can Simmons be? I said it a year ago, but his drives and control around defenders and around the hoop are at a higher level than even Kawhi. He just needs to learn to put it all together each and every game.

And as the above stat suggests, we are an exciting team, probably the most athletic and exciting squad I remember. Even more so than Elliot and Robinson really. Dedmon is really breaking out.

Very very very good. He needs to be a little more consistent with his jumper and needs to find that sweet spot when it comes to his aggressiveness but he's got all the tools to be a very very good two way player.

Agreed on Dedmon as well. He's really starting to show what he's capable of and I love it.

I have to say im really impressed with Simmons defence if anything. Dude really knows how to go on lockdown.

I think in the second half of the season the 2nd unit will really come into its own.

Aldridge can be so good when motivated. Dude is so skilled it's ridiculous.
Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”

I think Pop's comments about no coach speeches and players are paid well to show up and do their job were directed mostly at Aldridge. I'm still under the belief that LMA doesn't quite grasp what his role on this team is or that it hasn't been explained to him properly. Someone needs to clear the air because he just looks totally confused and frustrated.

And watching the game as a fan, I couldn't tell you what our plan is for using him. We seem to be forcing hero Kawhi Ball most of the time and Aldridge doesn't even get looked at unless its a last resort on offense. Then we try to force the issue with him 3-4 times in a row but he's soo confused he usually takes a bad shot or turns it over.
