Nope. Nerlens is an oft injured malcontent with a bad attitude. Thought he could've been as good as Theo Ratliff but I was wrong.
How exactly is he a malcontent with a bad attitude? Only bad I've heard from him, was lack of playing time. He has too much talent not to be playing.
He should've had his agent address it behind closed doors. Publicly complaining and cussing makes him a malcontent with a bad attitude by definition.
Normally, I'd agree with you, but the situation in Philadelphia is so awful I side with Nerlens. I mean, all their bigs have potential, but they have three guys (Embiid, Okafor and Noel) capable of starting at center, and six guys (Okafor, Noel, Saric, Ilyasova, Covington and when healthy Ben Simmons) capable of starting at PF. All these guys are young and need playing time to develop. More to the point, without that playing time, they will not get the contracts they could earn (and rightfully feel they deserve). It's an explosive situation for a team with a historically bad record--I mean, it's not like these guys are sacrificing their careers for an opportunity to win a ring. Finally, the 76ers basically screwed up by loading up on traditional bigs in an era where rule changes have necessitated that the rest of the league has moved toward stretch bigs. Accordingly, most of these guys are likely untradeable. (If he were easily tradeable, Noel would already be gone.)
That's where we could come in! Noah for Noel (and, say, Ilyasova). We take the "oft-injured malcontent" off their hands, while they get more playing time for their other bigs, not to mention veteran (bench) leadership for their remaining players--a player-coach to lead them into the Embiid/Okafor era of greatness!
It's brilliant--wake up Phil!!!

(Don't wake me up, though, as I'm still dreaming!

RIP magnumt--you're literally why I'm still here on these boards.
