anit-Super Bowl parties
Have you wanted to turn down invites to Super Bowl parties, whether you disliked or didn't care about both teams, or hoped your rival would lose, but still couldn't stand to see them in it?
Where the offseason has more buzz happens.

IN 1987, I showed up at a SB party wearing a Giants hat. Way too many "friends" rooting for the damn Broncos.
The following year, I showed up at one wearing a Redskins cap. By halftime they were so sick of hearing me sing "Hail to the Redskins" they asked me to leave. I'm pretty certain that was the last one those guys invited me to.

Re: anit-Super Bowl parties
I have never not watched the Super Bowl but I've had times I didn't feel like going to a party to watch it
Usually it's just because I don't feel like partying that night
One example of this, but isn't a super bowl was when the saints played the Bret favre Vikings...I knew if Bret won and went to another super bowl I would have drank too much and started a fight with someone (I hate favre more than any sports player of all time except MAYBE pau)
Plus saints are my second team so it would have stung that much worse

The only time I go to such parties, is when my team is playing in the big game...Otherwise, I just stay at home. I haven't actually met anyone who threw parties every year even when their favorite team wasn't playing in it.

Well we don't ever have parties but usually it's just a bunch of guys say hey we'll watch it here this year...we only had super bowl parties back in college which was when that game saints Vikings game was (fresh out but friends still in)
But we still call it a super bowl party even though it's just guys getting drunk...I assumed that still counted in ops scenario

A buddy of mine and I watch it every year while his wife goes and does chick stuff or whatever. If I had to sit in a room full of jerkoffs who chatter over the game and then shush someone for talking during a pepsi commercial, I'd have multiple counts of homicide on my record.

Yeah, we did that for Superbowl 48 & 49. But, we had a legit reason for it.

Like I said, most years I just watch from home.

I stay home most years. However, I host parties when America's team goes to the Super Bowl.

I had her put down and euthanized years ago. She was a Steeler fan, lol.

I'm kinda the opposite. I'll consider going to one if the Cowboys or Raiders aren't in it (meaning I've had plenty of opportunities in the last 15 years). But I refuse to go to one if Dallas is one of the participants. About the only gathering I'll consider is with the in laws or a close friend's dad who is terrific to watch a game with. But that's it.

Re: anit-Super Bowl parties
I'm with Otis. I'd much rather host or attend a Super Bowl party when my team isn't playing so I can just relax and enjoy the game without all the stress. Last year I hosted a massive party at my place, and being in Utah I was surrounded by mostly Broncos fans (or at least people cheering for the Broncos) and it just made the whole thing that much more stressful. I absolutely love the Super Bowl though regardless of who the teams are, though there's never been a Super Bowl between two teams that I just despise.

I´m from Germany so the Football community is much smaller than in the US.
For a few years, we´re always five guys who watch the SB together, two of them are Giants fans, two Seahawks (Bandwagoners
) and a Broncos fan... But the hate is real

I hope Houston is getting ready to roll out the red carpet for America's team in February. Jwise, how's it looking down there? Your gonna need all kinds of silver and blue balloons and pom poms, lol.

Yall went in, lol I usually like to hang with the family, main thing, it's a little fun to watch with some casual fans(at times).
I wasn't thrilled about NO getting there and then winning, not a Colt fan, but I was dejected like one. lol Them and the Falcons fought to stay out of last place for so long.

I guess it depends on the party and my mood. Many times I want to just watch closely, hear the commentary, see the commercials, without distractions or being around people who don't care.
