Re: Noel is killing his trade value!
When I brought this up a few days ago (in one of the Noel threads) I was told. Why should Noel care about his trade value?

Just tuned into PTI and listened to them bash Nerlens Noel and making fun of Hinkie. I really hate these morons

I'm disgusted by BB & BC, nerlens was our original player, if ur gonna move him move him, otherwise play him, ersan and Dario are redundant, esp when they play together

Re: Where is Nerlens?
Nerlens is a diva embodying all the worst connotations of that word: high strung, overly sensitive, self absorbed, petulant. If he can be sent to the 87ers to get heavy minutes, that's where he belongs right now. OK4 can back up JoJo until the deadline when I hope Jah and Noel get dealt.
BC needs to accept that Embiid is our franchise player and roll the dice on his health. One in, four out... that is what the Process has delivered. Embrace it.
Jah and Nerlens need to be publicly auctioned by the deadline. BC must solicit best offers. Other GMs will be motivated to compete only if they know both players will be moved on a date certain. Take what you can get and let the Process proceed.
C'mon man!

“This may be one of the best jobs in basketball right now,” Colangelo said at a press conference introducing him as the new GM of the 76ers after Sam Hinkie resigned.

Yeah that would have been me. If a player causes disruption then maybe he can get out of town faster. The other way wasn't working.

So what happens when Embiid has to sit out a game due to back to backs? Is Noel still out of the rotation and Holmes gets the playing time?

Re: Noel is killing his trade value!
noel is a dumb pouting baby. he surely doesnt care about his trade value. but he is on a contract year and does everything to not get paid the way he wants.
i really hope the FO intention to bench noel is, to showcase okafor and sell him high (well at least somewhat higher than right now).
after jah is traded, do the same thing with noel and everybody is happy

Sounds like you're asking BB to plan ahead. Considering he apparently doesn't know if guys are playing until 20 mins before game time...

Well the less he is valued around the league, the less he will be valued around the league when it comes RFA time.

Re: Where is Nerlens?
It sucks because we all know he could be really good, and is probably undervalued. But I think he is the first victim of the process.
I mean if things hit rock bottom will we ever turn around and say, damn, we shouldn't have traded Nerlens Noel.

He doesn't really need to care about is trade value. He clearly doesn't have a strong connection to the franchise. But he is up for a new contract and right now he is taking a shotgun to his value. It's clear he wants out of town and the best way to do that would be to shut up, be a boyscout and let the team know internally that he wanted out. Now he's not only shown himself to be a whiny baby but he's also riding pine while we try to salvage a decent trade for him, when he could be showing what he can do on the floor either for us or the team we could have already traded him to. I know these guys aren't business professionals, but they should have people around them telling them to shut up instead of making comments that are going to hurt their future earnings.

Re: Where is Nerlens?
I'm guessing, based on what Colangelo said today, that Noel will be traded around January 14th when the recently signed players can be traded.
I know it's poor timing on the heels of his huge game, but I could see Colangelo targeting Beal + Gortat for Noel + Lakers pick. Gives them room to resign Porter and Noel, rids them of a large contract (Gortat), and gives them a lottery pick to use on an wing or a PF.
Beal would probably be worth more, but I think that will be roughly the asking price on our end. I can't imagine we're going to keep both our pick and the Lakers pick.

Re: Where is Nerlens?
I'll miss the huge defensive potential of Noel-Embiid even we may never see it on the court.
Its just a shame we may actually plan to give it a try if Nerlens didn't decide to seprate himself to the whole team by bitching on the media.

That's too rich for Beal.

K. I was actually waiting for your opinion on that trade.

Not to turn this into a fantasy trade thread, but I posted a trade on the Wiz board and they seemed very reluctant to trade Beal. This was the deal...

POR out: Harkless, Ezeli
POR in: Gortat, McClellan
