I like him on this team... he sucks b/c he's injured, last year he was the kind of player we need, and next to a healthy GA, probably the best player we can have for that price...

Yeah he has some faults, but he is a cool dude, an above average defender and when healthy, pretty consistant...

The Wizards are now 2-2 when Nick Young starts and 0-2 in his last two starts. Granted, I believe Butler was out all of those games.

But note, his back has been reported as chronic. He thinks he will have to deal with this the rest of his career. He doesn't want to go under the knife like DSong did. Basically, this is where I think he is. He need to go through what DSong went through and he doesn't want to.

He came back for 2 games and then had to stop again. He is done. If he doesn't shut it down, he will be on and off like AD was last year. If he does go under the knife, see you in 2 years like DSong. Unless he gets a jump on it by starting now.

He is currently untradable. Add that to the list.. Etan, DS. I would add James but he is at least healthy. This is really going to mess up plans for clearing contracts. 11M of unmovable money. Add 6.6 next to James who has to go one way or another.

This is why James has to start. You have to pray he can get it going enough and start enough games that someone wants him. He has a player option next year. If someone will sign him for 3M a year for 3 year, we could offer him 3M to walk and by saying, hey, you can stay if you want and ride the bench, then no one will want to sign you after that. You will be done given your recent track record. So take the 12M from us and a new team or sit on the bench with your 6M and most likely be out of the NBA after that.

I can't wait to see what EG comes up with as a way to clear some money. If we did James like this and dumped AJ for an expiring, we could be at 58M and have Etans 8M clearing the next year. 2010 we would be at 39.5 needing to sign Haywood and DMAC.

Etans game log.

2004 - 47 games
2005 - 71
2006 - 65
2007 - 0
2008 - 26 with the potential for 40

I'm affraid EG will trade Butler and one or more of the crappy contracts to clear some room under the cap because I doubt Polin pays the luxary tax for a last place team.

Which is why if Dsong isn't traded before the deadline I just don't have a clue what the team is up to.

Agreed... And we also have a couple players who can fill the 2 in the meantime;

Young, he needs to put more work in his D and his 1-dimensional O and DMac but needs a consistant longrange jumper...

Oh well, time will tell...

I guess Deshawn qualified as one of Bill Simmons' "Irrational Confidence Guys". The guy simply was not afraid of Lebron and honestly felt he could match up with him despite all evidence to the contrary. You gotta love that.

Ok, the T shirt does say "Dirk". But still.... That's shrine-worthy.

Note that there seem to be a lot of sponsors on the shirt.

Oh... and how do we know that's DeShawn, btw?

Isn't that the back of Lincoln's head tattooed on his neck?

The guy was a major factor on the Dallas Mavericks NBA Championship team.

That's a real thing folks. And it backs up a ton of talk.

The Soulja Boy game vs. the Cavs in 2008 playoffs was one of the high points of being a Wizards fan in the last 10-15 years. Knew they were overmatched with Arenas limited and would lose the series, but for one night they were able to stick it to LeBron.
