Tough loss. Lose at home to a below average Hawks team after leading most of the second half. Granted, we were never up by more than 8, but losing at home to a team like the Hawks hurts.

This season is slowly starting to slip down the drain to .500 territory.

We are so bad omg.

Great idea to have roberson taking 9 3's and not taking advantage of howard absence to play oversize and kill them with Adams and Kanter. Whatever...

Rough loss, at least I leave for NZ for a couple of weeks tomorrow so I can actually watch some games again rather than following the play by play, although with this current stretch coming up I dunno how happy that'll make me

Weird game. We didn't ever get Adams going even though they went small without Dwight. Robes took 9 3s which is just crazy since there are times where he flat out refuses to shoot it. Russ took 10 3s which shouldn't happen regardless of how great he's playing & his defense on Schroder was just terrible. Russ getting fouled a few times at the end & getting nothing didn't help matters.

Millsap was going to be a matchup problem since they were playing 5 out pretty much, but Schroder doing whatever is where we lost this.

Bad, bad loss. We are clearly the superior team and then lose to these guys, led by Dennis 'I'm a scrubs, but I fooled our GM' Schröder. Smdh.

I don't need to. Schröder is trash. Always has been.

Man, I'm not sure if you are feeling salty after the loss, but Schroder is a good point guard. He hit the go-ahead shot against us. He just turned 23 in September. Kid's got talent and is a good player. He's shooting 55% in his last 10 games and is a 38% 3PT scorer. And he doesn't have a ton of help around him.

With that being said, we did try to get Adams going early but he couldn't finish and we had to take him out early because of foul trouble. I'm not sure what Donovan was trying to do the rest of the night, but if you are going to be going away from Sabonis because he misses his first three shots, then go to Lauvergne for shots. He played 4 minutes last night. He's a stretch 4/5 who can open up the paint for Westbrook, Grant, Roberson. I also would have liked to see some more P&R action last night with Dwight out.

Westbrook/Christon
Morrow/Roberson/Abrines
Roberson/Grant
Sabonis/Lauvergne/Kanter
Adams/Kanter

Our rotation should look something like this in my opinion but I think Oladipo being out just really throws off our rotation because we have no defense at the 2 unless we play Roberson heavy minutes at the 2 and Grant heavy minutes at the 3 to cover Roberson going to SG. I think this is the best solution while Oladipo is out. It doesn't bring much offense to the lineup, but I can live with us playing good defense and Grant and Roberson making some good cuts to the basket and occasionally hitting a 3 versus Morrow getting eaten alive on the defensive side.

Meh, mediocre loss to a mediocre team
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

It's a little harsh to say Dennis is trash. He's not an all star level PG, but he is very good for what the Hawks need. If Tim Frazier goes off for 30 pts against us on Wednesday, there should be hell to pay. Donovan bears a lot of responsibility for this loss. He didn't commit to either big or small and tried to have his cake and eat it too, but it didn't work since Dennis and millsap both had good games.

This brings me to the last point..... Can we lay to rest the Russ is a good defender myth :banghead: I mean it's not the end of the world to have a weak defender at point guard, Warriors have had a small amount of success over the last few seasons its fair to say, but you have to accept the fact and play around it. Russ should not under any circumstance guard a major offensive threat. I get that Victor being out throws things out of whack, but Donovan should know this. You must hide him on defense. Put him on Bazemore, not Schoeder. If russ guards IT on Friday, I guarantee we will be talking about IT going off for 30+ in another thunder loss. Let Andre do this job, he's not on the floor to do anything else.

Meh, he's relatively average for a PG. Which isn't a good defender, but there aren't many at the position. Schroeder isn't a very good starter but not a total scrub either.

Yeah we should have hid Morrow on Sefolosha, Westbrook on Bazemore, and put Roberson on Schroder for sure. I agree with that wholeheartedly.

Everybody plays so hard against even if the team or the star on the team is in a slump. Everybody seems to show up when they play us, it's weird

Everyone saw the L2M report right? Incorrect no calls on Westbrook's last two shots. That includes his 3PA with 3.2s to go.

Love Westbrook's post-game quote. Reporter asked him if there was any positives to take away in the loss.

Westbrook's response:

"Uhhh, we don't have moral victories around here, buddy."

Priceless.
