As bad as the Wizards are, at least they aren't the Kings. Cousins just got fined by the Kings (yet again) for detrimental conduct. And he recently was involved in a fight in a club.
Aaron Afflalo refused to go in a game the other night.
Safe to say, that team is done. BLOW IT UP

Giannis Antetokounmpo is showing insane improvement year over year. He is now averaging 23, 9 and 6 with 2 blocks and 2 steals a game. He is ranked in the top 5 in PER and BPM, and in the top 10 in WS/48. He is arguably one of the best 6 or 7 players in the league at age 22, and he hasn't even figured out how to shoot 3's yet.
I'm just going to put this out there with no comment. The top row is Giannis, the bottom row is Lebron:

It's fun to watch. His improvement has been dramatic each year - and as you alluded to - the 3 point shot may well come to make him that much better. I'd guess we start seeing it next season. And his ability to play any position from the point to center lets a coach and GM do all kinds of things. When Middleton comes back next season, and if they add another good defender, they could be a contender. Jabari Parker is also developing better than I expected. It's going to cost them a fortune to keep both of them - made more difficult because they spent big money on backup types last offseason.

Good to see Ty Lawson finally coming around. His last 2 games for Sac have been very solid.

The Sacramento Kings just won their fourth game out of the last five. They moved into eighth place in the West.
DeMarcus Cousins had 32 points, seven assists, seven rebounds, four steals, two blocks in their road victory at Minnesota.. He made three three-point field goals.
As far as I know Boogie did not drive the bus or fly the team charter plane.
(Edited to add the Kings are winning without Rudy Gay)

Cavs don't have anyone to guard Kevin Durant. CLE will need more wing help if they face GSW in the Finals.

I dunno. Cleveland looked like they matched up pretty well. Traitor KD got his, and likely always will, but at the expense of exquisite ball movement and three point barrages.
I agree with CCJ that the Warriors were better last year. I would double down and say the Cavs are significantly better this year than last. I think Liggins is a better fit than Smith.

Not to mention that the Kings have played only 12 home games so far vs. 18 road games.
Last year, Cousins had a terrible season, & Gay was down as well. Moreover, Casspi, Bellineli, Mclemore & James Anderson played a lot & were just awful. This year, Cousins is having a much better season, Gay is up as well. Above all, those other guys are either gone or playing less, while Temple & Lawson have shown up & been fantastic.
They could easily wind up with the 8th spot. In the West, esp. this year, that looks like being chosen as the annual sacrifice to the gods: they'll be slaughtered.

I think last season teams hadn't yet figured out how best to defend and attack the Warriors. The Cavs cracked the code in the playoffs and other teams have taken note. If the Warriors hadn't made the Durant acquisition, they would have fared much worse this year based solely on the fact that the league has adjusted to them.
And let's not forget that Cleveland one by just 1 point, at home, thanks to a remarkable shot by Kyrie that was well defended, and thanks to Richard Jefferson getting away with tripping Durant on their last possession.
I still think Golden State is the favorite. I don't think they've quite figured out how to best to maximize talents of Durant and Curry, but they're definitely getting better as the season progresses. I also think that they're starting to utilize McGee more effectively, and that McGee might actually be a huge difference maker by the playoffs.

Cleveland is garbage without Lebron. Never seen a team drop-off this drastically with one player absent. And people say Kyrie is better than Wall???

Cleveland is a lottery team without Lebron.
No one really says Kyrie is better than Wall. They could say Kyrie is a better small 2 guard than Wall but he isnt nearly the defensive player (sad...its degrees of bad lol) and he isnt the floor leader. Lebron is the point guard for the cavs. Kyrie is the closer for cleveland and honestly he is so much better than anyone we have handling the ball and then taking the final shot. John can get the shot but his shot is suspect....beal cant get the shot on his own but his shot is better than Kyrie (at least in form)...

Yup, I still like Golden State to win it all. I had a feeling they were holding back against the Cavs feeling like they didn't want to show their complete hand since they are going to play them in the finals. Cleveland, on the other hand, seemed more motivated to make a statement.
That's not to say Golden State doesn't have any concerns. :
- Curry was awful, he played about as well as a poor backup point guard. It is only one game but does Cleveland have Curry figured out?
- Tristan Thompson simply owns the Warriors on the offensive glass. I like Green and West although not sure how dependable McGee/Pachulia are.
- Iguodala and Livingston were terrible. The play where LeBron blocked Iguodala in game 7 says more about Iggy's decline than the greatness of LeBron, although perhaps he's saving himself for the finals. Livingston is clearly a good role player who often doesn't play well on the road when the games are close.
- While the refs blew the call against Durant, the Warriors can't count on the officiating getting better.
I agree that Warriors are still working out the kinks. It will be interesting if the Warriors lean more on Clark, McCaw, and Looney when the playoffs come down.

Smith is fine especially since he helps spread the floor. The biggest difference seem to be the that LeBron has found his 3 point shot and Kevin Love is playing like he did back with the Timberwolves.
