Call me crazy, but I'm gonna go with Stanley and Leuer in the starting lineup at forward.
That way at the 6-8 min mark Ish, KCP, Mook & Harris are able to play together. Then get Baynes in the last 2 min of the quarter and bring Stanley back in at the start of the 2nd to spell KCP at the 2.
Not conventional thinking and I'm probably wrong, but we need to find lineups that both Reggie and Ish can play with. That gives us Reggie/ Dre pnr to start, followed by a change of pace ball movement lineup.
Yes. I like the idea of a Smith-Hilliard-Harris-Morris-Baynes second unit. Aron's only offensive asset is his free throw shooting. Otherwise he's fairly useless so the bench needs some scoring help. Moving both Harris and Morris there would go a long ways towards that, and limiting the minutes for those two guys with Jackson would be a good thing. Too much iso ball if they're all together.
As for the starters, that makes for a nice defensive boost in my opinion. Maybe enough of one to get them back overall to where they were before Jackson returned. His individual defense isn't going to get any better so a better supporting cast is needed... although the point guard continually getting toasted is a huge problem that's hard to overcome. Offensively it should work just as well. Leuer is a really good complimentary piece that doesn't need to iso. Banking a lot on Johnson to improve in a hurry with a much bigger opportunity but some sort of gamble has to be made.
Do it Stan.

Re: Predict Wednesdays Lineup
I'd accept the argument that RJ isn't the problem if we're going straight off of win records, but when we were in a slump with Ish as our starter, no one really regressed to the point that they are now. They didn't call a team meeting or have these crazy lineup change proclamations from the coaching staff like we have now. It's like inserting RJ in the lineup made our starters forgot how to play basketball all of a sudden. They have all regressed to the point where the individual players are feeling it in terms of overall play and tone of the offense and defense.
Case in point, our defense severely regressed and at least we were looking like a team at home, shutting guys down to one of their lowest point totals. All of that just somehow flew out the window once we tried to play with RJ again.
So a large portion of the blame has to go with him regardless. The only one really safe from any lineup changes is Leuer (who will likely get a promotion) and KCP.

Re: Predict Wednesdays Lineup
Hopefully it's Ish-KCP-Tobias-Leuer-Drummond (would say Boban as I think he'd match up well against Gasol, but Gasol shoots 3s now)
Aside from the PG stuff, we gotta stop putting out two tweeners in the starting lineup and put a real PF like Leuer there.

Reasonable words, but honestly Jackson had the sound of a fella who’s been beat up. It seems like he’s been made the scapegoat of the losing skid and that he’s feeling it. And that’s really not fair to him. This team has had issues with ball movement and keeping contact when the other team starts to pull away far before Jackson came back.
As I mentioned the other day, the Pistons were 25th in assist percentage at 53.4 percent before Jackson’s return and have been 25th in the league at 54.4 percent since then. Jackson ain’t the problem.

Can't say I disagree. Again, I think defense is the problem. He's not a defender like Ish is.
You have two non-defenders in your starting lineup. Too many to win, because Dre is up and down.
So your choice is to remove
RJ for Ish
Or
Tobias for Leuer
I move Tobias to the bench and keep RJ in. That's just me
Stan made it to the Finals with Jameer and Hedo starting. Two notoriously bad defenders. Of course, Drummond ain't no Dwight tho.

That guy is trying to sugar coat it. It's not about assist it's about getting the ball moving around and letting the offense flow. Reggie holding the ball and running down the clock kills that.

When the Pistons were at their best, getting swept by the Cavs, who was the weakest link?
Tobias - so Leuer starts in his place.
Keep it simple

You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.

That's a pretty unfair assessment. Tobias was new-ish to the team still, didn't really have a set role, he was very passive in that series.

Re: Predict Wednesdays Lineup
Going forward we all know RJ is the starter and Ish is the backup. No sense in putting Ish into the starting lineup and then when we hit a bump pulling Ish out of the lineup isn't the answer. He was brought in to be the backup...let him be the backup and get comfortable. Unless Reggie is not healthy if course.
In some way I'm hoping SVG inserts Stanley and we all know Luer will be in there.
There are guys all over the league that start and play 12-15 minutes per game. Not one of those guys have the ceiling of Stanley. Hopefully inserting him in the starting 5 gets his confidence back, starts to really produce in those limited minutes and eventually the starter minutes will come with it all. In other words I hope SVG is taking the chains off of Stanley and let him play.
Gonna keep looking at the glass half full and hope this rough stretch will help. RJ/Dre have the pick n Roll down. We have 2 shooters surrounding them in KCP & Luer. A capable shooter but more slashing/defensive presence in Stanley.
Harris/Morris are out of the lineup so that allows Reggie to get in a rhythm. They can bully a 2nd unit. Ish/Morris/Harris were playing pretty well together before so hopefully they get that rolling again.
