Why for Philly: Jackson can play both guard positions and brings scoring. He also is on a decent contract that will only get better with the new CBA. He is also a piece that can be moved later for assets once Simmons is ready to take over PG duties.
Why for Detroit: I think Aaron Baynes is going to decline his player option and become a free agent in the off season, so the Pistons are in need of a Center (Boban is fun to watch but I have doubts he can play heavy minuets). I don't think the Pistons are going any place with the current make up (this year or in the future) and moving Reggie gives them some cap space to make some changes. We played well enough with Ish and Udrih as our PG's so It wont be a huge problem.
That is a bold move, But why do you figure it gives you cap space enough to make changes, unless you let Noel walk
I am guessing we would be able to sign him after we sign other free agents because we can go over the cap to sign our own free agents. If not, letting him walk is an option. It would still let us retool, just with fewer assets to start with.
