George Karl at it again...

Why does he always have something to say about Melo? Is this the only way he can stay relevant?

Players, coaches all write books even Charles Barkley (sorta). George Karl is a highly respected coach and he was paid to write what he thought about his experiences.

Karl said, he's the greatest offensive player he's ever coached but not big into defense, giving up the ball. Um, he's not wrong when he was coaching the Nuggets with a very young, immature Melo.

I think the Knicks have a more matured Melo but I can see that in his body language.

Karl also referred to Smith’s entourage as “a posse’’ — a phrase that got Knicks president Phil Jackson in hot water when he used it regarding LeBron James’ managers.

Jesus Christ talk about going in. I know Melo was never the best defensive player but coming at Melo's personal life of not having a dad was uncalled for. I did not have a dad and I grew up just fine. Anthony doesn't like to share spot light ? Really?? Amare, Lin, Rose, KP **** Karl. Eat a fat one. Hope this just motivates Anthony more.

I believe that what he said is true. However at this point in career, under NY spotlight and with these teammates he has realized he has to defend - and so he does. You can't call Melo out for not doing his part on defence or atleast not trying. What happens in Denver stays in Denver

Karl goes in on Melo, J.R, Boogie, and basically any player with a inferiority complex. Karl isn't PJax in terms of motiviation, but I thought it was 50% truth, and 50% borderline bull.

karl is the biggest coaching loser of all time, this guy should not criticise anyone's game. Just because he's been coaching teams for two decades while accomplishing nothing doesn't make him a respectable coach.

He couldn't win a title with kemp and payton, when they were killing hakeem's rockets every year, he could't handle that nuggets team either. And he had a one nice year in milwaukee in that 2001 season and it all went downhill as well. He had chauncey drawing up the last play in 09. Unbelieavable scam of a coach.

Why does he keep bringing him up though. He's coached Glenn Robinson, Ray Allen, Allen Iverson, Shawn Kemp, Gary Payton, heck even Tim Thomas lol. Melo doesn't bring him up at all. This is one salty old man.

Karl only needs someone to throw the alley-oop and he takes care of the rest when it comes to Carmelo.

This coming out today wasn't by mistake; Early enough in the day for media outlets[ESPN] to make it an hourly topic.

I'm sure he talks about all those guys in his book, but none of that is the interest of Marc Berman. Berman is part of the NY media so he is only highlighting the part regarding Carmelo Anthony.

It's a thing for coaches to write books and then dump on players. It's kind of a BS culture if you ask me. You really don't see many players going out and airing the coaches dirty laundry.

Melo has definitely changed since he left Denver and really probably since he married Lala and I'm sure he wasn't a model citizen his whole time Denver while also probably being somewhat of a diva to coach as well. However, having said that, this seems totally uncalled for and filled with hate and pettiness on Karl's part. The hypocrisy of coaches is amazing to me. They preach loyalty and keeping things "in-house" with their players and as soon as they see a chance to grab the spotlight and make some money they air out all of their dirty laundry for some attention.

Anthony is right "When the grass is cut the snakes will show".

This is pointless and the timing is probably agenda driven. Any time Melo has success with NY, something stupid comes out. Sometimes it doesn't even have anything to do Melo (see the "Posse-Gate"). Whatever. Nothing to see here. Karl needs to get over whatever is biting at him.

On a side note: I'm sure someone would have negative things to say about me when I was 10 years younger. We all grow up and are held accountable by our peers. That's what's happening to Melo with this team.

Weak move by Karl but none of that is surprising. Melo has always been Melo first. #StayMe7o lol

Karl wrote Anthony and Martin not having fathers in their lives became a detriment to their personalities.

“Kenyon and Carmelo carried two big burdens: all that money and no father to show them how to act like a man,” Karl wrote.

Classic case of racial paternalism. I suppose Karl's daddy taught him how to take potshots at players. He needs his azz kicked.

Karl is a racist, back in 90s he said black coaches were getting coaching jobs not because of the skills, but because of the affirmative action.
