PP, just hear his frustration and try to understand it. We are in their house, and others from three other teams warned them about what can happen with fans when Lin joins the team. They don't want that to get out of control. Rooting not for the team and just for Lin or being so "Lin-centric" in game threads is a common mistake that we are making.
Let's all breathe and try to keep the Lin stuff in the Lin forums per the guidelines. When it comes to the game threads, it's about how the whole team can get a win. If you think Lin should do more to help the team, that's fine. But to help the team and in the way expressed by the management, developing good habits for sustained good play and giving themselves a chance to win. That way we share in their spirit and purpose of this particular forum.
I'm NYC born and raised, followed the Nets on and off for decades, but I haven't invested in this team like some of the others here have. I get their frustration with the previous team and the number Billy King did on the franchise, and their belief that the new coach and GM are doing things that can lead to more positives results and feelings going forward with the franchise. That's really the most important thing here.
There are moderators in this forum who do a good job of curtailing excessive Lin posts and Lin fan haters as well. I am very careful to not bring Lin up in game threads except when it makes sense based on the game situation. On the contrary some people jump to conclusions and bring Lin into the thread based upon their inherent prejudices.
If you want to take the side of an obsessive hater and bully that's your business but don't lecture me.
I hope by hater you don't mean Lin hater. Dollarbills has been extremely high on Lin since I think his signing.
I lobbied for us to get Lin over guys like Rondo in free agency and frankly i haven't been disappointed. Great guy on and off the floor, he plays hard, and he gives us much needed leadership. The numbers don't lie, he was an excellent signing, we're just going through a rough patch as a team right now.
