Julio Lugo sucks.

Post#1 » by Dirty Water » Fri Jun 29, 2007 11:26 pm

OC>Nomar>A-Gon>Renteria>>>>>Lugo.

Can't hit, has average defense, sends disgusting messages with his constant croch grabbing. But worst of all, he's getting paid 8 million a year for FOUR years. Plug in Cora for the rest of the year. Sit him the rest of the year, you're paying him what difference does it make if he plays or not. Either that or get him off my team.

Seeing Lugo get thrown out at 3rd base trying to streal representing the tieing run in 8th made me furious at him. The guy is awful. A sub .200 average for 9 million dollars is disgraceful. He's embarrasing eveyone with his double A performance so far this year.

Julio Lugo will hit .310/.370/.450 after the All-Star Break.

Half the year is a long time. Even If Lugo hits .285 the rest of the way, which is the best number for average he put up for an entire season I believe, he'll only hit about .240. Thats just awful for 9 million a year. We were supposed to put up with Lugo's defense because of his bat, but with the offense this guy is a Triple A player.

Actually, it's been six of the seven years he's been in the league.

I have every right to not "shut the **** up." It's July and our starting shortstop is batting .190

I believe that Lugo will rebound a little bit in the second half but on the whole, it will still be a very subpar year for a guy being paid 9 mil a year. I think that the reason for his lack of success is all of the pressure that is being placed on him. He is used to playing in Tampa where nobody cares about baseball and now he is playing for the most baseball intense fans and is being paid a pretty hefty contract. And as for getting caught stealing third standing up, he said in an interview that he didn't slide because he thought that the ball was fouled off.

I'd take Alex Gonalez over Nomar. Nomar was a roided out injury prone freak who made 30 errors a year at SS. Of course Nomar was a waaaaaay better hitter average wise, put the power numbers aren't really that different except for the couple of high tweny, 30 HR seasons Nomar had
