I'm kinda the opposite. I'll consider going to one if the Cowboys or Raiders aren't in it (meaning I've had plenty of opportunities in the last 15 years). But I refuse to go to one if Dallas is one of the participants. About the only gathering I'll consider is with the in laws or a close friend's dad who is terrific to watch a game with. But that's it.

I'd probably be the same way as this. If it's the Chargers, I would want full concentration on the tv without distraction. That said, they have Chargers meet up parties every week for games in Austin at bars with like 50 rowdy people and those are fun, so that would be fun as well.

I went to a big one when they played the niners back in the day but I knew they'd lose. Won a bunch of money on prop bets. Like Chargers - most kickoff return yards. Niners - most punt return yards.

Well we don't ever have parties but usually it's just a bunch of guys say hey we'll watch it here this year...we only had super bowl parties back in college which was when that game saints Vikings game was (fresh out but friends still in)

But we still call it a super bowl party even though it's just guys getting drunk...I assumed that still counted in ops scenario

The main reason why you don't go to super bowl parties or host one is your team is incapable of making it to a super bowl,

Last year I hosted a massive party at my place, and being in Utah I was surrounded by mostly Broncos fans (or at least people cheering for the Broncos) and it just made the whole thing that much more stressful. I absolutely love the Super Bowl though regardless of who the teams are, though there's never been a Super Bowl between two teams that I just despise.

One super bowl comes to mind where I did not enjoy myself or the game. Super Bowl XV between the Egals and Raiders. i don't need to remind anyone my loathing of the Egals, but I always hated the Raiders growing up as a kid. So that was one super bowl I did not enjoy. I was young and pulled a Jwise that night and don't remember how I got home.
