I'm not using it to fuel anything. And all that it validates is that Melo wasn't the person he is today when he was younger and more impressionable (duh) and that he did some things and ran with some people I'm sure he even regrets.
It's also not piling on when these things have been brought up before. And they will forever be brought up.
I have no issue with Melo the person either. I have a big problem with Melo the basketball player.
Y'all are just sensitive and naive.. and the apologists play this game just as unfairly as the detractors.
Let me ask you a question.. do you think Melo makes the ridiculous comment about Jeremy Lin's contract offer from Houston if he was black? Hell fuqing no (and I vowed I would never bring this up). The dude has done a gang of stupid schit in his career. People blab that I turned on Melo because Lin wasn't brought back and that's bullschit. I turned on Melo because he looked shook against Miami and because he shouldn't have been laughing commenting about another mans money. Do you know how disrespectful that is? Do you know it's the one thing all athletes know they shouldn't say?
Look Melo has done some stupid schit in his career.. and he says some stupid schit to the media. He ain't the most articulate person.. cool.. he whines to refs.. more in the past than lately. He whines to the media passive aggressively like a little baby sometimes.
And he don't give the amount of effort that guys usually do at his pay scale both in season.. in game.. and in the off season.
Deal with it.. put me on ignore if you don't want to read it. But I ain't going to change my views. Oh well.
I have the utmost respect for the Melo the father, the person, the husband.. and the Boricua in him which I am. But he was never cut out for what people (or even himself) think he was cut out for. There was hope he could be the player that would lead a team to a championship.. but he never was. And a player of his stature most certainly influenced the personnel and coaching staffs he played for and with. So it just can't be all put at ownerships feet.. he has to take some blame for that too.
His black book was the funniest schit he perpetrated since he came to New York. Come on man..
You sound dumb. I am far from a Melo Apologist or sensitive when it comes to the dude. You know damn well I am not in these comments in all these threads like others always defending Melo against whats said about him. Im one of the last people who defends Melo against all of the people who slander or have something to say about him. I only come in when dudes be far off base. Once you said that a white coach( forget about Karl) can't be a racist at all, I knew you was faulty from that point. It tells me everything I need to know about how you think on those matters. Keep hashing your point. I said what I said, and stand on it.. Make what you doing your life mission with Melo if you choose to, keeping reminding and telling the world that George Karl is correct. Make sure you are a part of that "forever" for all I care.
Ha... This dumb ass. Where did I say you were an melo apologist?
oh my bad. Im just Sensitive and naive. The others are the apologist I guess. Hey Yall. FOH. fact of the matter, you played yourself and sound dumb period, saying ANY of that **** to me. You posted that old ass video ... basically saying See how melo was. See that... I responded that this video is being used way out of context to make a point.
All he was in a video just laughing with the people from his block or neighborhood... but you want to use it as... This is that thug behavior george was talking about. This video proves George is correct. "Melo has grown up and he don't talk or be around these people any more" (not true. you don't know **** on that tip. I wish Justice his brother could see the **** dudes be saying)) "growing up" don't mean you say fuccc you to the people where you lived at even if they live another path. There is a reason why Melo came back to Bmore during the riots and was not touched or robbed. People see that he not uppity, and thinks he is better than the SAME people he once lived around because he made it out and they couldn't. You a 44 year old man keep rehashing what a early 20 year old did wrong. I wonder what Karl did wrong in his early 20's. SMH. You should research that since you love him so much.
when I speak on that. I guess Thats when people become sensitive and naive and the others are apologists

. You a bird to the first degree. Maybe you are a Karl Apologist..

Since you asked about Bobby Knight I will end my conversation with you on this note. I really don't care whats said after this. You prob have a bunch excuses for this...since you are a old crusty coach apologist and are naive to them

. "Bobby Denied it...Isiah Denied it" it can't be true. How can any coach in basketball be a racist.
I bet Karl says something its correct. Carter says something it has to be a lie...
Raptors coach Butch Carter found himself amidst a brewing controversy before last night’s Knicks game after excerpts of his soon-to-be-released book branded his former coach at Indiana, Bobby Knight, as a racist who once called a player (believed to be Isiah Thomas) a “****” in front of the team.
The National Post in Toronto ran the excerpts in yesterday’s editions – a fact that didn’t sit well with Carter, who is gearing his team up for the first playoff berth in the franchise’s history. According to a source, the book originally was planned to be released around Christmas.
Amidst denials yesterday by Knight and Thomas, Carter said last night “They’ll have their own spin. The most important thing is this team. When this is over, I will answer everything.”
Carter, 41, said his players have all read his book and didn’t think the Knight accusations will cause a distraction for him or his club.
In the book, co-authored by his brother, Cris Carter, the Raptors coach wrote that Knight “does not like educated, strong-willed blacks. I feel it would be fair to say that he does not like the fact that Cris and I are professionally successful.”
Carter, who played four years for Indiana during the late 1970s and was a co-captain his senior year, wrote of an incident at practice when a raging Knight singled out a player from Chicago, believed to be Thomas. “Knight yelled at one of the players that he would end up like all the rest of the **** in Chicago including your brothers.”
Carter never referred to Thomas by name in the book, but Thomas was the only black player from Chicago on the squad. Carter said the alleged incident “haunted” him the rest of his life.
Carter also wrote of the incident: “He was overtly talking about all of us; the eight black players in that locker room and essentially all the black players he ever coached.” Carter wrote that Knight refused to apologize afterward.
In the book, called “Born to Believe,” Carter also called Knight a “self-serving coward” and “ruthless.”
Yesterday, Thomas was quoted as saying “First of all, I’ve never heard coach Knight use the N-word. So that individual certainly was not me because I’ve never heard him talk like that. Bobby Knight epitomizes what is good and successful about winning.”
Knight said yesterday “Nobody has ever heard me use that word.”
