Soto to be called up, Pie Down!

Post#1 » by SportsWorld » Fri Jul 13, 2007 12:22 am

ESPN 1000 is reporting Giovanni Soto will be called up and may start tomorrow.
Will we finally get a catcher that can hit?

Pie is going down.
The Cubs called up Triple-A catcher Geovany Soto and sent down outfielder Felix Pie on Thursday. Soto start Friday as the Cubs start the second half against Houston.

Looks like Dempster will be ready sometime in the next few days which may force a release or trade of Bowen or Hill.

Probably a good move, I'd like to see what this guy has to offer and its clear that Pie's time isn't now.

This is a good move. Pie needs to be getting AB's every day at this point, and he wasn't going to be getting them the way he was hitting.

Hopefully he'll do well in Iowa and we'll see him back for the stretch run.

Pie goes 2/5 with a HR for Iowa tonight.

Why is he in Iowa? He has nothing left to prove in the freaking minors. This is another terrible move by our triple chinned GM.

We're holding back on future CF who has nothing left to prove in the minors for Jacque Jones who is terrible at everything he does.

And Angel Pagan who is mediocre at everything he does.

Someone needs to beat Hendry with a stick.
