Melo Trimble is back!

This Terps team will be far more successful than last year's team.

The Terrapins got yet another surprising, come-from-behind win; this time over Oklahoma State.

Who watched this game? What did you think? Trimble or Evans--which would you draft?

I didn't see the game but followed the score. A big late 2nd half deficit turned into a narrow win. Starting to see a trend here.

What stood out in the game for you?

Bump

The Lady Terrapins have a chance to beat UConn tonight.

They actually have a much better recruiting class this year than number one UConn, who hasn't lost in like forever. They have a LOT more talent IMO.

Unfortunately, Maryland's coach is more of a recruiter than a good coach. Brenda Friese never seems to get the best defense out of her team. She also plays too few players. She has favorites (Confroy for one) who should play less. She has a tendency to make talented girls transfer for lack of minutes. That huge C freshman comes to mind as a potential transfer to come.

Tonight, they better play tough. I hope they win. I expect Geno Auriema will once again badly out coach Brenda.

Brenda Frese is a great recruiter.

Brenda Frese is IMO far from a great coach.

There is NO WAY she should be playing players 40 minutes with all the 5-star athletes rotting away on her bench.

She didn't even play 6'5" Jenna Staiti last night.

I tweeted her before and after the game. To me, you play 5 freshmen who never have lost to UConn. Play them EARLY just to energize the whole team and to extend the pace. You play to match your depth against theirs. You play youth who THEY HAVE NOT SCOUTED.

Brenda Frese played Confroy 36 minutes and this player did not score.

This coach has won a Naty and NOONE BUT ME will criticize her; but IMO, she is GREATLY overrated as a coach.

Year after year talented girls leave UMCP. This year will be no different. Watch and see.

Jenna Staiti, from all reports she's not quite ready to play conditioning wise.

Honestly, I had no issue with the rotation for the most part. 3 of the 6 freshman played.

Bottomline, if Confroy and Walker-Kimbrough hit open 3's UCONN is leaving Comcast with an L.

So no comments about the choke job today against Nebraska? I'm not a Turge fan as a coach. I know CCJ is Tweeting Brenda about her coaching? Tweeting? Come on, I don't think she's a great x's and o's coach either but she did win a natty. Most hard-core Md fans who are casual WBB fans like myself, know she's not great, but neither is Turge. I don't think this is a definite NCAA Tournament team. They took a huge step backwards today. Here's a team that was down 13 points to Towson in the second half, needed overtime to beat Richmond on a neutral site, barely beat American. Just not high on this team, especially their post players.

Happy Year.

I was monitoring the game on Maryland's flagship radio station til Maryland was up 64 to 53. I thought, "This game is in the bag!" I went for a workout/walk before going to church here in Hawaii.

Only hours later did I learn that the Terps had choked the game away.

WTF????

Turge is often in over his head, I have little faith in his coaching ability.

Not sure anyone was shocked they lost to Nebraska. It's not like the Terps were ranked highly. The Terps lost their entire starting front court from last season. They're doing fine with the talent they have, and I expect they'll improve. One terrible ending to one game isn't going to kill their season.

They were 7.5 point favorites.

--They led the game by 12 with a few minutes left.
--Nebraska scored the last 14 points. THAT was the disappointment. How they lost it.

Ruzious, this team has won a LOT of come-from-behind games and, I agree with you; the team is NOT great (despite being 13-1 then, 13-2 now).
