Brandon Marshall's 'Boisterous' Halftime Rant Bothered Teammates

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Dec 29, 2016 12:24 pm

Brandon Marshall delivered a fiery halftime rant on Saturday that irked some of his New York Jets teammates, according to team sources.

The incident may have raised tensions in the locker room.

The Jets were trailing the New England Patriots 27-0 at the time of Marshall's rant. While he didn't engage in verbal altercations with any individuals, sources said, he sparked what was described as a raucous locker room.

"When we're getting blown out at halftime, there's no reason to be fighting amongst each other," Calvin Pryor said. "I think that's why guys were upset, because we needed to be fighting against the Patriots, instead of the Jets."

Marshall's halftime tirade might explain why Sheldon Richardson ripped him after the game.

When reporters told Richardson that Marshall had described the 41-3 loss as "embarrassing," Richardson replied, "He should be embarrassed. ... No reason. He just should be. He knows what he did."

That's the type of guy Brandon Marshall is. He wears his emotions on his sleeve. The guy has no excuse to rip other teammates, though. Marshall has had more easy drops than anybody else on the team. He pretty much drops every big 3rd/4th down ball, even when the pass is perfect and hits him right on the hands. His head just hasn't been in the game his year. I'm not sure what it is. He's either declining sharply or cares more about other things than the game. Either way the Jets need to cut ties with him. Trade him for a conditional 5th and be done with it. He's a great athlete and competitor when things are good, but when things go bad he becomes a cancer. Richardson has to go, too. He's too immature for this game.

Hopefully they can package a deal trading down their first round pick, Marshall and Richardson for a boatload of picks. There are so many holes on this team, it's time to move on. Enunwa can take over for Marshall, he's shown that he CAN be a solid contributor and Anderson can be our #3/ deep threat WR. It's time to move on from the aged Vets (Mangold, David Harris, Giacomini, Marshall, Forte, etc).
SELL THE TEAM, JIM!!! :curse:
