3 - Fair. Every season will have something be interested in, and this season is no different, but nothing that separates this season from other seasons.

GOOD:
I've been in love with Embiid since he was in HS (I predicted to my friends he'd win MVP one day just from seeing a couple of his HS youtube vids), so finally seeing him hit the court has been a joy.

Seeing Giannis blossom into a future legend. Also tons of other exciting youngsters.

Can't wait to see Simmons, my favorite (entertainment-wise) college player of all-time.

The MVP race is actually meaningful and debatable for once.

The Warriors are a unique team in NBA history.

The players' skill level and athleticism are clearly at an all-time high, and the game's rules are displaying this to full advantage.

The Rockets, Harden especially, are an absolute delight.

For the first time since the 80's, the two best teams can be called true interconference rivals.

BAD:
Still can't stand seeing guys jump into defenders when they leave their feet, in an entirely unnatural shooting motion that should not be rewarded with free throws.

The ends of games take too long.

Michael Jordan is retired.

CONCLUSION:
All told, I'm 35 and I do not say this lightly: this is quite possibly the most entertaining season I've ever experienced.

You're 35 and Ben Simmons is the most exciting college player you've ever seen?

I'd love to see your reaction if Draymond Green sent Lillard into the 3rd row on a drive to he hoop. My guess is you wouldn't be happy that the 80's were back.

While I agree with your main paint, Green would be one of the first to get his ass handed to him if we were back in the 80s. If he tried to pull those kicks of his in a game, he'd end up leaving in a stretcher. He's a fake tough guy and I'm surprised people haven't figured it out yet.

Overall the season has been decent, I've been mainly watching Rockets/Bucks/Cavs/Thunder. Playoffs will be something else though :D
I agree with this answer. Thanks. The league never condoned or encouraged players getting taken out but it was also not so overprotective of star players.

Green is totally a fake tough guy. Would love to see him play against Oakley, Lambier, Horace Grant, Ben Wallace, Dennis Rodman, Mo Lucas, Salley, etc. Back when the power in power forward actually meant something.

Regarding Lillard: yes, I think he deserves to get knocked on his ass on a lot of his drives. His incessant screaming on contact and bitching about and 1s bugs me as much as his defense.

Seems like you guys are the fake tough guys hiding behind your keyboards. Draymond Green grew up with the bad boys and he'd be the one knocking peoples asses out and you all would be the ones whining about it.

If he was a real tough guy he wouldn't be crying that the league is targeting him or talking about natural shooting motions or bringing up kinesiology and a bunch of other excuses. Save it. He's a paper tiger.

He only pulls this **** because he knows there won't be retaliation.

Outside of national TV games and occasional random games I feel like watching via reddit streams, the only team I consistently watch is the Bucks. And I have to say it's been pretty damn fun. About as fun to watch a .500 team as you could ask for.

I think we boil it down to "who's winning it all?" way too much. There's a ton to like in this league even among teams that don't have a shot to win it all, you just have to give it a chance. The league is STACKED with exciting young talent.

maybe we should post our REAL age too. that'd be interesting to see.

34 .. not very exciting to me. i think i'm losing interest in nba altogether. even last year when portland was doing good i was meh about it. i'll still watch most of the blazers games but the rest of the games? not so much.

 The first part of your reply is the kind of attack the poster behavior that is discouraged.

Green might thrive in the period from mid 70's to 90 or so. You never know. My opinion of him though is that he's a cheap shot guy who acts like has never committed a foul in his life and expects special treatments from the refs.

1 star. A lot of disappointing teams so far , not much difference from last year except more 7 footers taking way more 3s (Brook Lopez, Marc Gasol). We might as well skip to the finals since we already know who's going to be there. I think the next couple years will be better with the teams like Pelicans, Bucks , Wolves, Knicks etc because they have some young future all stars and pieces. It will be better when Lebron and Durant retire.

As far as being purely fun to watch, yes.

But full disclosure, I don't watch a ton of CBB, and I watched maybe over 20 LSU games last year.
On the other hand, the reason I don't usually watch CBB is because it's not that fun to watch, and the reason I watched so many LSU games last year was because I couldn't get enough of Simmons. So, it's kind of a chicken or the egg thing.

I think the season has been a lot of fun because almost every team is either good (Cavs, Warriors, Raptors, Rockets, Spurs, Clippers), in the playoffs or has a star (OKC, Celtics, Blazers) or has a young star to look forward to (Bucks, Knicks, Sixers, Pistons, Suns, Pelicans). The only teams that don't really fit that mold are the Nets (no picks, little hope) and the Magic (no standout young player, will struggle to make the playoffs). Basically most teams are competitive or young enough to have hope, very few are stuck in the middle

It's kinda been amazing the triple double show! By players such as Westbrook, Harden., LeBron . The Lakers beat the Warriors once again this year besides being on opposite sides of winning games. A lot offense and I mean lot. DeRozan getting Kobe comparisons for goodness sake. Offensive will always be the star from a entertainment value aspect. The Draymond leg drop on Harden will have future implications if they meet in the playoffs. The clippers starting out hot and being derailed by injury. Ginnais coming out of nowhere really. Tight MVP race so far.

That's fair.... it's a shame cause you're of age to have seen some guys that were 100x more fun to watch then Simmons, more dominant and won more. I'm a bit younger than you and didn't start watching to the early 00s and even I missed some greats.

It's been pretty boring tbh. Everyone knows it'll be cavs vs warriors in the finals and it will be exciting as hell. The regular season means nothing this year because every other team is playing for 3rd place.

Sometimes when the raptors are playing and I have nothing I can't get myself to watch the game. I would much rather watch the highlights than to invest 3 hours.

I wish we could just skip to the semi finals.

I would give four stars for GSW getting Kevin Durant and the rise of the Rockets, but gave it 3 stars since the Sacramento Kings haven't gone into panic mode yet and the draft wasn't that great. Also, Boston and Memphis hasn't been dominant, Minnesota, Indiana and Chicago are mediocre. The Knicks have been okay. KAT hasn't been dominant like we thought. Nerlens Noel has been disappointing. And no more Sam Hinkie to kick around, so that leaves the Kings and Ranadive.
