This "dig, dig, dig" **** never works against teams that can actually shoot the three at a competent percentage. Clifford needs to do some serious soul-searching, like the way he did for the O when it transformed from Alfense to All-3s-All-Day, and figure out how to fundamentally (and effectively) change our approach towards guarding the 3pt line in a league where deep shooting wins.

All the ref stuff was expected. James gets babied like no other. Has he ever fouled out of a game? I remember a couple years back he never had, which is just laughable considering how physical he plays the game.

I think we see pretty content with just being able to beat just the bottom feeders enough to sneak into the playoffs. Don't let me get to arguing about what we're doing wrong or what we should be doing that'll take us to the next level. I'll get bombarded by advanced stats that show that we have the best rim protectors in the league and "dig, dig, dig" has nothing to do with that.

On the bright side Frank not only shot over 40% but 50% tonight. That should get us a few wins in the future if we can play some defense.

My least favorite part of the game was when Hibbert was guarding Frye off the ball on the perimeter, then left him to cut off a drive. Of course Frye was wide open and there is zero chance Hibbert is going to be able to recover.

We have to be able to tweak our scheme for three point shooting teams. We had a higher FG% than CLE tonight, but when teams are shooting almost 50% from 3 on 30 attempts, there is not much you can do to win.

The NBA is the only sport that I know of that if you are a small market team you have almost no chance of winning the title or getting quality players.

I love how content Bellineli is with sitting out a bunch of games to fully recover from injury.

We're not even that good yet to rest on any laurels.

Can't be afraid to make trades, like trading for Dwight Howard last season as an example (he was on the block). If you're afraid to make moves or miss on draft picks (like Biyombo and Kaminsky), your margin for error is slim. Look at Toronto, even with their team, they're still afraid to make a win-now move.

That's not a consolation prize, but i would take this over being in the wizards situation.

I still think this team can really improve, and has room for it. Coming from the blazers (and from Batum in 2008), i am relatively well placed to know that things can still happen in small market.
The roster that Pritchard had built was contender level at that time (one of the big minus was Mc Millan and his stereotyped rotations, he is much worst than Clifford)
blake - Rodriguez
Roy - Fernandez
Batum - Outlaw - Webster
Alridge
oden - Przybilla

injuries wasted everything, but things can get fixed here in Charlotte at least. Msotly because minus MKG, all players are young and fit. No superstars besides Kemba though.
As long as Cho and Jordan know what to do to fix the lack of toughness and defense from the bench (frontcourt and guards mostly), that would be a major step forward. This team has trade assets on the bench, and very movable contracts. And as long as they avoid following the Wizard's way though (overpaying injury prone vet's) or the blazers way (overpaying everyone for the sake of Oshley's will), things can get better (and some other teams will decline too).

The best teams..Cavs, spurs, warriors(Oakland) are not the biggest markets. Meanwhile the so called big market teams Lakers, Knicks, Bulls are all struggling..

There's a reason why we will never beat a team with lebron on it. He's sending a message to Jordan. This has been going on forever. From the 60 he dropped on MKGs head a few years back and the staredown dunk in the playoffs. I guarentee lebron has hornets games circled on his calendar.

Facts. Beating MJ's team is a personal vendetta for him.

100%. lebron has been hearing since he got into the league that he will never be as good as MJ.
