Gameday: Spurs at Hawks

Post#1 » by -Sammy- » Sun Jan 1, 2017 7:57 pm

WHEN: Sunday, January 1, 2016, 6PM EST
WHERE: Philips Arena, Atlanta, GA

With an ongoing stomach illness, Kawhi's questionable for today's tilt in Georgia, so we'll need to see more of the versatility the Spurs displayed against Portland to get it done. This is a team that gets a lot of offense from its frontcourt, so let's hope we get Christmas LMA to offset that action. Expect to see Green on Schroder a fair amount.

4 turnovers early in the first again. Such pathetic starts from this team. Kawhi launches a contested three on his first touch and gets benched for it and then Anderson who replaces him gets benched for a sloppy turnover on a fast break lol.

Next play? Manu turnover. Spurs.

Ok, they may be limiting Kawhi due to his illness. Has come in and out twice now.

Aaaaaaand another turnover off a terrible lob pass to Dedmon.

Man this team is frustrating to watch at times.

I've criticised him a lot but right now Aldridge's jumper is money. And when he is on like he is tonight, drawing doubles and able to kick it out and around, it just kickstarts are offense. He still doesn't have the superstar IQ, lots of silly fouls and bad reads from doubles but there's definitely improvement over the last bunch of games.

What we saw early from Anderson was ugly. I still say he is not an nba player and has no place on this team.

Dedmon looked lost as well. Couldn't get position, setting bad screens and out of place on D.

Kawhi 0-5 on three. Struggling to get back in rhythm after his absence.

Kawhi choked on the last shot, point blank (even with the little contact) should have been a gimmie.

But it should never have got to overtime. Atlanta are an average team and we looked even worse than them. Yikes.

Yikes. He got bumped but he still blew that layup pretty bad. Guess he was going full bore and you're not getting that call late on the road

What a frustrating game-- brutal officiating all night, and Hardaway and Millsap clowned us.

Deep breaths; on to the next one.

The refs were as bad as I've ever seen in professional basketball.

It honestly seemed like it was a school game and random parents were picked out to ref.

Topped off by Manu getting wrestled and thrown to the ground on that Hardaway game tying three. Hilarious stuff.

Offensive lineman taking out manu... Never seen a no call like that before.
Travis Outlaw: Oh man. That feels great. To have a bobblehead of me is just terrific.

Rough game. That last miss by Kawhi wasn't reason we lost (although he did have two very good chances to win it) . We made plenty of mistakes that lead us to that finish.
