Did anyone else not see the game on their guide? Before I left from work it didn't say anything about a Magic game on Fox Sports. With bright house or spectrum or whatever it's called now.

Yup I've felt the same way. This has felt like a vacation. This is the most miserable I've been as a magic fan. And that's saying alot lol. Watching this team is a chore now.

I use the Fox Sports Now app and it has the game listed.

It isn't too late...

We would currently have the 7th and 12th slots in the lotto....only a game out of having 3rd and 8th. Lot of season left to play and I don't think either us or the Lakers are trending up.

Even AG isn't a sure thing at this point. But point guard is clearly our weakest position.

We have to have the worst guard rotation in the entire league. Payton/DJ/Fournier/Meeks is terrible on both ends of the floor. At this point I am all in for just playing Mario 30+ MPG and evaluating for the future.

Woof, those numbers are rough. We also tumbled to 25th in point differential. I really hope the Magic take the long term approach when evaluating moves before the trade deadline instead of further purging assets for short term band aids. Even if that involves standing pat, I'd rather do that than sell another young asset for 2 middle of the road vets on expiring deals in the name of making a playoff push.

The shine is starting to wear off of our "assets." AG/EP/Mario have all lost value this year, Fournier just signed a monster deal, and Vuc is now playing a backup role. I am not sure we even have parts other teams would covet outside of Ibaka.

Which is why they should stand pat or sell for prospects and picks. But I'm bracing myself for a trade that undersells Aaron Gordon or Nik Vucevic for players like Rudy Gay or Goran Dragic.

Well unless we get a solid starting caliber SF who can shoot and play D, then AG stays at the SF.

I would like to hear that entire quote because that is not what i heard him say. I know at the end of the game they were talking about defense and coach said the breakdown is taking place at the pg position and that is what needed to change. THey also asked about changes and coach said he didn't know but he tried EP at the beginning of the half to get some better defensive play (not his wording but i can't remember verbatim) so the indication to me was he was toward DJ and not Elfrid. I don't think he is getting what he wants from the position as a whole but i don't think it was a shot at Elfrid. my .02cents though because i did not hear that quote from NIcky Football.

yeah it's both guards but i think i am on the right track with DJ being the main culprit.

By many defensive metrics, Payton was a weak link defensively last year. His defensive win shares dropped from 2.3 to 1.7 and his defensive box plus-minus rating dropped from 0.8 to -0.5. This year, Payton already has totaled 1.0 defensive win shares and a 0.4 defensive box plus-minus.

Overall, he has been much better this year.

But with the team’s offensive struggles and Vogel’s decision to start Bismack Biyombo, the team has started D.J. Augustin. And Augustin has never been known for his defensive prowess.

In his career, Augustin has never had a positive defensive box plus-minus. This year he has a -3.4 defensive box plus-minus. At least according to this metric, Augustin’s defense has not been good this year and has been really bad even for his poor defensive career.

And that was on full display Sunday against the Pacers.
