Re: Lakers working out Donatas Motiejunas
Dmo is above average defender i must say. He is not athletic but smart and fast enough to make things clicking. His strenghts are post scoring, passing as a 7 footer, floor spacing and high basketball IQ. He had good season in houston and was 2nd most important player after harden until went down with an injury. If hes healthy he has a lot to show and would be very effective for any team as soon as he catches 5x5 game speed

I hear this and have read this elsewhere but I'm still finding it hard to believe a 7 footer with this skill set is unsigned in a league bereft of decent big men. There has to be a "but" here somewhere. I mean a set of "strengths" like: Post scoring, floor spacing, high BBIQ and passing at 7' make him seem like front like starter on any team in the NBA.

Back injury. Simple as that.

He also has a worse career PER than either Randle or Lance. His shooting is actually very mediocre. Career 53TS% and career 30.8% from 3. Also not a great defender, which we need. When we're considering playing Deng and eventually Ingram at the 4, I really don't see the incentive in having this player on our roster. I understand that we're not very good, but that doesn't mean that we should pick up just any player out there.

with the way we've been playing I'm surprised we just don't start playing zubac more.

The Lakers need to make a decision. We need to tank and get the top 3 picks OR get away from rebuilding and push forward for the playoffs this year and in the future.
As for Zubac, he should be playing much more either in the NBA or DLeague.
As for DMo, if he is healthy (this is a must), then we have to sign him unless the decision is to tank one more year. Then the decision is trickier as DMo could help beyond 1 year, if healthy.
Not Yo Ham Lakers!

zubac is so far from being a NBA player that he has no bearing at all on this season.
I also have no idea what d'mo could bring to the lakers
That being said, lakers will probably sign him, because it makes no sense

USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team
Proceeds to finish 7th and shames the entire nation!

Lakers working out Donatas Motiejunas
They might be discussing deals and doing some homework in case something is imminent. They want to make decision where they are prepared if/when need arises.
Or just plain sign him as injury backup.

The Pelicans are in the process of finalizing a one-year deal with Donatas Motiejunas at the veteran minimum, according to league sources.

Guessing the Lakers did BJ Armstrong and Motiejunas a favor. After we worked him out, details go public that benefit Motiejunas and now the Pels, a desperate team, sign him for one year at the minimum? Guessing the Nets dodged a bullet by not having him there for that kind of money. Hoping he does well there as Pels need the help

Sucks for the Rockets.
They let both their young PFs go in T Jones and Monta.
