I'm not calling that absurd. I'm saying that it is absurd to say that he should be at full strength this quickly in his recovery.

Let's give the kid a few months before we decide his fate.

It is possible that he will be in top form in a month, and dominate the rest of the season. It is also possible that he will never get back to 100%.
Let's see what happens.

I think TJ Leaf would be a great complimentary piece to this team, offensively.
A PF that can shoot, post up, rebound and can dribble/drive. Defense is somewhat suspect though.

1. Ideal draft would be Markelle Fultz and Jayson Tatum.
2. Sixers shouldn't trade Noel or Okafor until after the lottery, because, if the ping pong balls don't bounce our way, we can package one of them (or both) and either PHI17 or LA17 (or both) to move up for Fultz and Tatum.
3. If we don't need the bigs to move up, use one to trade for TJ Leaf.

Ben Simmons-Markelle Fultz-Jayson Tatum-TJ Leaf-Joel Embiid
TJ Maxx, Nik Stauskas, Robert Covington, Dario Saric, Richaun Holmes
TLC, Korkmaz, Free Agent 1, Free Agent 2, Free Agent 3

Noel's value would be virtually nothing if we waited until after the lottery.

He can help a team this year, on his way to resigning with whatever team traded for him.

However, you could conceivably trade Okafor at the draft. Still, I think that they need to get rid of one of them by the deadline.

Sindarius Thornwell is back from suspension. With Dozier probably still playing PG, his stats might suffer, but South Carolina is about to be really good.

Nerlens is the best center in the draft and in free agency, before and after the lottery. The best picks in this draft are guards, but the worst teams besides the Sixers need bigs. Bos, min, phx, have no use for Dennis Smith or Lonzo Ball.

I think we actually wouldn't be able to trade him at the draft. Free agency in the NBA occurs after the draft, so Noel wouldn't be tradable until he signed a new contract since there are no more years left on his deal.

Noel will never bring back a lottery pick at this point. At this point I think that he is perceived much like a restricted free agent in the NFL where GMs avoid signing them in order to not have to deal with the double whammy of paying him big dollars on top of giving up assets. I believe that teams that want him will just gamble on signing him to an offer sheet.

I agree that he is, but he will no longer be under contract at that point for the most part. Someone isn't going to trade you a good asset for someone that they can sign in the summer.

Sometimes signing restricted free agents turns into a sign and trade deal, but at a serious discount.

I think that we either trade him at the deadline or keep him, and sign him this summer.

Okafor could be traded at the deadline or this summer.

As you mentioned, he is a restricted free agent. They can't sign him without us having the rights to match, which we will. Just as teams did with Tobias Harris, Allen Crabbe, Tyler Johnson, etc. The Oladipo deal also comes to mind, although different scenario. It's the way the system is set up. If we don't get the deal we want now, we wait. Not a Colangelo fan, but he's right on this one.

Ok. I still think that a good bit of Noel's value is helping a team in the playoffs this year. His value should be higher at the deadline than in the summer.

Anyway, i personally want to see us keep and sign Noel now, and trade Okafor.

I would much rather trade him at the deadline than continue with both of them for the rest of the year. A tight squeeze will get even tighter when Simmons comes back.

Laker fan here I come in peace, my Question is if you land the first pick who should the 76ers draft?

I think that it is still an open question. The consensus pick is Fultz, but today I like Jackson and Ball both better.

I like all three of them a lot though and would be thrilled to get any of them.

Probably Fultz, but I don't think he's necessarily the most ideal fit with Simmons (think Harden and LeBron playing together). That being said, he'd be extremely hard to pass-up. I wouldn't be upset with Ball or Jackson though.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Watford/Barlow/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

I think Jayson Tatum will be in the conversation for the #1 pick. So I'd say either Fultz or Tatum or DSJ, although Smith is the hardest to see as a fit. The great thing is that with Ball and Jackson and some other possibilities, we could get two of the three.

My dream draft right now is Markelle Fultz (PHI), Jayson Tatum (LA), TJ Leaf (Okafor trade), Devonte Graham (Det2nd), Furkan Korkmaz (2016).

That said, I have all of the top ten in this draft sandwiched inbetween Brandon Ingram and Jaylen Brown. So, yes, I would take Brandon Ingram for the #1 pick, if that's what you're driving at! :D

Ben Simmons, Brandon Ingram, Robert Covington, Ersan Ilyasova, Joel Embiid
Tyreke Evans, Andre Igoudala, Jayson Tatum, Dario Saric, Nerlens Noel
Devonte Graham, Timothe Luwawu-C, Furkan Korkmaz, TJ Leaf, Richaun Holmes
