even though Brett Brown has them both out of position when they play together the majority of time turning Embiid into a stretch 4 instead of eliminating the stretch 4 position altogether and going with a high post look.

I mean you'd expect a team's TRB% to go up with two centers on the floor so that number doesn't tell you much.

Yeah...

Let's find out!

NBAWOWY...
Jah on the floor, the Sixers grab 45.6% of TRB
Jah off the floor, the Sixers grab 50.2% of TRB

hmm...

Not sure where they would point to next.

See what had happened there.. it's the guards fault.

Thats why the defense is worse too!

Even when you compare each center with the same exact guards.

I think everyone is just jealous of Jah's stud status and purposely plays worse while he's on the floor. No stat for that. But if you "watched games" you would see it.

You see, just by coincidence, when Okafor is on the court, the opposing team seems to put the ball in the basket a great deal of the time. Because the ball is always in the basket, there are no defensive rebounds to be had. So you see, these Rebounding statistics are unfair to Okafor.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

What do you mean its percentage of the available rebounds? Your saying the ball goes in more AND when it doesn't he doesn't grab it? I'm starting to think stats have a bias against him. He won a national championship! Danny Ainge tried to trade for him!

You are being unfair to Okafor, the rims don't like him at all. The ball always goes to Ilyasova or Saric, they somehow always manage to out rebound him. But atleast the Sixers get the ball right?

Partially because they do not block shots, you can get more rebounds that way, see Kevin Love during his Timberwolves days.

Jahlil Okafor, Philadelphia

As much as fans in Philadelphia want the former third overall pick Jahlil Okafor moved, there is talk that the 76ers are not as eager to dump him. But there is a sense the 76ers would move Okafor in trade. The question is what does he return?

The 76ers, under current leadership, have been mindful of the return they get in trades. They are not trading just to trade, and that’s not just for the public perception, but being mindful of retaining value for assets, even underwhelming assets.

That said, the 76ers have made abundantly clear they would be open to moving all of their second round picks this year, making them a team that will have a lot of conversations, especially as the draft gets closer and something of a pecking order develops.

There is a sense that Okafor could be had in the draft, as picks and assets often change hands on draft night. Okafor could be on the move, although it seems less certain than some of the other names in play. That’s simply because the 76ers won’t give Okafor away and extracting value for him may be tough given how up and down his NBA career has been.

All this talk about not giving players away just makes me laugh now after the Noel trade.

I'm good with keeping Okafor.

Unless he's moving you up to get a good prospect in the draft, part of a package for a desirable player or bringing back a good piece....were better off holding onto him and seeing if anything changes in his game/mindset.

Worst case you wait a few years and he becomes a FA and leaves. Not worth tossing away for nothing of worth with Noel gone. Platoon Holmes and Him off the bench with a few spot starts to the hotter hand for when Embiid isn't playing.

So is he getting surgery or are they still expecting this injury to eventually heal on its own?

I don't think he's done anything to deserve being in a platoon with Holmes. Holmes should be the default backup/starter when Embiid is out heading into camp and it's up to Okafor to show that should change.

Yea I agree. I meant more in theory you have those 2 competing for minutes at the 5 behind Embiid. Whoever earns it, gets it. Right now it certainly should be Holmes

What will likely get you a good deal?
A.) we are trying hard to unload okafor
B.) we are not trying to unload okafor

Let him stick around his value is at its absolute low anyway. As if there's a good deal out for him right?

I just don't want Okafor on the team anymore. I hate watching him play too. Just pay another team to take him off our hands.

FWIW, I think he'll be much better next season as a player and because of team's situation. So I'm not in a hurry to trade him but definitely don't see him on this team long term EVEN IF HE MORE THAN LIVES UP TO HIS POTENTIAL. I'm not in favor of overpaying for centers, except if it's EMBIID.

Let other teams overpay centers and figure their way out to be a LEGIT contender with that roster/cap structure.

But if Okafor is on the team he won't get much playing time. Let's assume Embiid plays 32 minutes. That's 16 minutes left and Holmes is getting all of those minutes. Okafor will get a lot of DNPs. Just get rid of him.
