I'm not worried yet. It was late November, early December when he picked it up last season. He was shooting worse than this if I remember correctly. He'll pick it up as the season goes on.

Think it was actually the opposite, believe he started out hot then had ankle issues that made him sit out a bit in Dec. and he looked really slow and off when he came back.

Don't think his age has much to do with anything, he's not even 28 yet.

Batum needs to play better. He's too tall to be shooting sub 40% especially considering his lack of volume on shots and selective shooting practice. Still a key player to what we do because he make up for it in other areas like passing and being a secondary ball handler but he needs to shoot better than he has if we want to win more consistently. He's our second option after all.

Batum and Marco have to lead the league in jumpers where the shooter is fading to the side. I think they both really do strongly prefer shooting on the move over a straight up and down catch and shoot.

His worst time last year was between mid december and late january (especially january, he was horrible and unplayable if there were no other injuries).
He played so bad that he helped me to sleep at night since i was discouraged to watch the Hornets

He is not shooting so bad imo. He keeps jacking 3's when they are not falling because he is just lazy on offense when he wants to shoot. Almost each time the team needs to score and that Clifford takes a time out to fix this, when the system involves Batum it's almost always 2 pts on a midrange jumper.
Yesterday i think he finished 5/9 for midrange/rim (incl one drive/lay up in 1st half though)...

His best period has been in march (after the ASG), his ankle injury derailed all right before the play offs though (not saying he would not have struggled otherwise though, we will just never know).

ps : On the other hand, dec/jan/feb was full period of Linsanity here.

Batum rounding into mid-season form?

He was electric tonight offensively and carried us in a game where kemba couldn't get anything going offensively.

First triple double of the year

Last 8 games

19.0ppg, 7.6rpg, 7.3apg, 44.9%FG, 32.5%3PT

Only knock on his game last 8 is 3PT shooting, otherwise, he's been fantastic.

I think he needs to take some of the scoring load off of Kemba late in games. Otherwise, it's MB that has to do it, whenever he's back.

I think it's easy to hate on Batum's offense because he takes such damn difficult shots. He loves that fade away jumper after backing down his man, and he also has a tendency to fade to the side on uncontested jumpers. When Batum goes into ISO mode it makes me cringe, but sometimes I wonder if we do that just to force attention his way to open up backdoor cuts.

And that Batum was a better get than Hayward.

According to that I didn't know that KCP was playing so well.

We lowkey got some of the best backcourt depth in the league sans Sessions. I'm happy to have Batum on this team.

His offense is not sustainable , he got very lucky with whistles yesterday. To me, he needs to figure out a better way to get cleaner looks. Everything is a contested fadeaway , and it shows in his %s.

Vonleh will be out of the league soon. He's just awful.

So many people salivated over him after we drafted. Shows how much of a crap shoot the draft is.

Give me trades or free agency any day.

That brings guys like Bats, franchise changers, to our team.

Thought it at the time. I disliked Vonleh out of Indiana for the same reasons I've always loved Batum.
