Re: Magic PG: So Let Me Get This Straight...
I think melo has been the second coming of al Harrington the two last years.
BUT his prime years were wasted by not teaming him with a 1a type star that was a guard.
But I agree, I saw it in preseason with the ball hogging. It's time for melo to either take a significantly reduced role on the team. Perhaps come off the bench. Or time to trade him. I just don't think melo's ego can handle the blow of coming off the bench. It reminds me of Ewing during his last couple of years in ny.

harden will be 32 one day too. melo used to do the same thing in the west.
Very true.
Here we are. Time to turn the page unless the team drastically improves...no?
aint no dramatic improvement coming. you can't make him leave though. you can lose with him. it's simple. just go back to sh*t guards until you draft a good one. easiest way to suck.

Must be like heartburn for a great player like Hornacek who played the game right to have to endure that BS

Yo Harthorne, what's up buddy?
The air is just starting to cool in my balloon so I'm able to drop in for a moment.
BSB, WTF is going on? Where ya been? Watcha been doing'?
Was busy with the campaign. Other than that nothing much.
Man, same old Knicks huh? We deserve something better soon.

At the end of the day us fans are tired of getting excited then being disappointed. Its ok to lose but no effort or passion is what pissed fans off.
Noah has not lived up to what we wanted. Rose has good numbers but does not = to wins. and Melo has regressed. All this while KP has progressed. Its time to turn the page now.

It was always apples and oranges. Pick a guy to be your best player? Harden. He can move the needle by himself and needs the ball. Pick a guy to be your second best player? Klay. Shoots, drives, plays defense, doesn't complain, can take over sometimes. Perfect 2nd guy.

Except his love for NYC and his NTC says otherwise. Face it, Melo is here until he finishes out his current contract.

Stop excluding him.
He's in the circle too.
He is been our best player this year to be honest, keeps us competitive nearly every game at least, when he is missing we get blown out at home to Magic, a bad defensive team without their best defensive player is horrible
There have been games where KP has been straight sh*t.
Don't play that garbage with me. This whole team is trash.
Nope, KP aint thrash and has been pretty consistent all year, despite the anemia and still making the transition from Europe to NBA

B: K. George | FVV | Rozier
B: J. Green | Donte
B: K. Oubre | B. Hield | C. LeVert
B: Zion | G. Yabusele | D. Jones Jr
B: KP | J. Huff

Not everybody gets in the circle around the coach. Sometimes they look from the outside. KP does this sometimes. Is he not engaged?

And still proves my point that Melo did not in any way shape or form push Woodson out the door
Knicks keep turning the roster over, turning the coaches over, and yet still play offense a certain way and tend to have the same issues on defense? Yet who is the constant? I've generally supported Melo but it's time to see what the issue is.
Players can be good but ultimately not that conducive to good teams. Part of it is the Knicks, always firing coaches and trying another. But the teams sure do seem to quit or tune coaches out here pretty damn quick. I'm not saying Melo led the revolt on Woodson. He lost the team; it was clear as day. But it sure seems to be a trend that coaches get tuned out pretty quick. Some of them deserve it, others maybe not.
Name a coach that didn't deserve it.
The only one I can think of is Woody.
D'Antoni deserved it and before he got linked up with Harden people wondered why the fuq he would ever be considered for another head coaching job.
Rambis is a poor coach. Period.
Fisher was inexperienced and it showed.
Every coach that comes here ain't sh*t this has been since JVG.
D'Antoni didn't deserve it. He babysat the team while the roster went through a major overhaul. We were making strides before the Melo trade. Then the trade came and we didn't have a PG that fit MDA's system. Then we got one in Lin and Melo didn't buy into it and then Lin and D'Antoni were gone. It's no surprise Mike is winning big in Houston.
Woodson was an idiot.

Yeah, a sub for Melo!
Talk about fitting an agenda. C'mon dude, did you hear Breen? Did you watch Jeff's body language?

Sark wrote:El Poochio wrote:Sark wrote:KP is the second best rim protector in the league. The only time he looks bad is when he covers for others on the perimeter. If he just stayed mid range in, which is where he should be, he'd look a lot better.
Not just rim, he is still the best starting forward in fg % allowed, despite the high number of attempts he face
http://stats.nba.com/players/defensive-impact/#!?sort=DEF_RIM_FG_PCT&dir=-1&Season=2016-17&SeasonType=Regular%20Season&PlayerPosition=F&StarterBench=Starters&CF=GP*GE*10
The reason teams shoot so much on him is he is the only one who really challenges shots. Melo, Rose, and Noah are all sieves on defense. It's not just a Melo thing, though he is the greatest offender due to his position in the heirarchy.
Nope, Noah is actually statistically one of our best defenders, he's
2nd in DRTG (2 pts worse than KOQ)
2nd in DWS (.2 less than KP)
and 1st in DBPM (.3 better than KOQ)
Noah's main weakness is that his rim protection is lacking, which is why defensively he should be guarding the 4 and KP the 5 because KP is the better rim protector.
Also, Noah, KOQ, and KP are the only players who have a positive NetRTG, win shares, and BPM. The next best player is Melo who has a slight negative BPM (-.2), netRTG(-2), and is second in win shares at 2.4
But yes, both Rose and Melo are atrocious defensively I will agree with that

Woodson was an idiot.
His system was good for a yr and a half. The problem was that Woodson made no adjustments, when it stopped working. He also made no adjustments to his rotation when JR was a net negative, and Novak + Cope should've gotten playing time over him.
