I'm sure it's been discussed but I've been actively having a conversation on the trade board about Favors. I'm wondering what is the most people on here would give up for Favors.

No BKN picks, that is for sure. I've never been that impressed with his game. What has he really accomplished besides injury? I mean he could be a nice role player but as was mentioned those picks are getting moved for that type of player.

To me, while not exactly the same player, he could make more sense than Noel as we'll have him locked in at 11 mil next season (I believe it is), rather than the # Noel may command.

Favors is overrated in my eyes. He came into the league as this incredibly talented "Dwight Howard" like talent...but the truth is, he's always been Dwight Howard lite. With the way the league has transformed, guys like Favors aren't as valuable as they used to be. I honestly wouldn't give up a whole lot for him because A. He's not an elite RIM protecting Center like his teammate Rudy Gobert. & B. he doesn't space the floor or do much offensively either. and finally C. he isn't this dominating force of nature in the middle either like Dwight used to be.
I'll pass. I am more intrigued with other possibilities. Although at 11 million per year I would do a deal if they were willing to swap out Amir/Young non BK 1st for Favors.

Basically where I was; Amir, Olynyk, non-BK pick was what I pitched.

Favors has been struggling pretty bad this year. Not sure if I want him all that much.

Yeah, there is always a price. That doesn't sound bad, but as you know, Utah fans/management would so no way to that.

Re: Trade Thread 2017: Not Once, Not twice, But Thrice!
I came up with a 3-team trade idea where Boston helps facilitate and gets a couple things they desperately need out of the deal without sacrificing their cap space this offseason or forking over major assets. See below.
Boston-Atlanta-Denver
Atlanta Out- Millsap & Korver
Atlanta in- Faried, Hermangomez, Olynyk, JYoung
Denver Out: Faried, Hermangomez, Nurkic
Denver In: Millsap, Minny 2017 2nd from Boston
Boston Out: KO, Young, Minny 2017 2nd
Boston In: Nurkic, Korver
Why for Atlanta: They just saw Horford leave in free agency and have nothing to show for it. Atlanta is a team with a rebuild right around the corner, however it's a market that can't really afford an all-out rebuild. Their attendance struggles already. So with that said they move on from Millsap & Korver signalling the end of that Horford, Millsap, Korver, Teague era. They "retool" by bringing in Faried who is under a reasonable contract for a few years, Hermangomez who is a young player with talent, they take a chance on James Young, and they bring in KO who would be under team control as a RFA. Not the best haul for an All-Star caliber guy in Millsap & an aging Korver, but I cannot envision them getting much more for 2 impending free agents.
Why for Denver: the 8th seed is wide open in the West and Denver certainly has some nice pieces in place. It's time for them to start making a little push out West. At the end of the day, they aren't going to beat Golden State or San Antonio. but after that the West opens up. OKC, Houston, Memphis are all good but not THAT good. Clippers too. So by bringing in Millsap they have an opportunity to gain some momentum in the West. It's also really important for Denver to bring in an all-star caliber vet like Millsap to help mentor their younger players like Jokic, Murray, Mudiay, Harris, etc. They also add in the Minny 2nd from Boston as a sweetener. They give up a couple solid young pieces and a good player in Faried in the deal, but these are guys that aren't currently in their core rotation. So adding Millsap trumps what they give up. Mudiay-Chandler-Gallo-Millsap-Jokic-Barton-Murray-starts looking pretty good.
Why for Boston: I think it's clear that Danny is willing to make deals that incrementally improve the roster with the big picture of maintaining the flexibility to make the BIG TRADE or signing. So this deal is perfect. You add a Center that's young, cheap and talented who will help out with rebounding and a lack of size. You add a shooter that can improve the bench. Boston can role out a rotation of IT-AB-Crowder-Horford-Amir with a bench of Smart-Korver-Brown-Jonas-Nurkic...Green/Zeller/Rozier waiting in the wings as depth. Boston looms in the background as a potential threat to Toronto and Cleveland, but they keep the big picture in mind.
this isn't the sexy trade we're all hoping for, but it's a solid deal. I can't envision Danny making a huge deal at the deadline unless a Top 10 player truly becomes available at a reasonable price tag

I've devised 57 different ways to try and trade Tyler Zeller. That is impressive.

He'd cost a lot more to acquire as well, which is the problem. I think Noel's appeal is in large part due to the fact that you might not have to fork over fair value given their logjam with bigs and his unhappiness/pending RFA status. Favors won't be coming at any sort of discount, especially since if they make a trade for guys worse than him they'll likely increase the risk of losing Hayward in FA.

Don't like it for Atlanta or for Denver. Doubt Millsap re-ups with Denver based on what they have on their roster (don't think he matches their timeline), so right off the bat I think it's questionable for them. For Atlanta I think they look for a single piece with more value than the dimes/quarters they get here.
Boston makes out like a bandit.

Why would they do that? Olynyk is by far the best fit with Dwight in that package. Dwight/Faried/Nurkic front court is an incompatible mess.
I mean, I would cut Boston out of the deal too because it stinks for them, but it doesn't help the overall trade it hurts it.

Ddb's trade makes sense.
Favors is a solid player, but the bloom is leaving the rose- hasn't improved his scoring or rebounding enough to live up to his original hype. Injury and fit problems, too.

KO is going to look to get paid, same reason they Hawks are open to trades. Nurkic is at least controlable for 2 more years and I feel he has better long term value than KO (else why would you guys be trading him ?). And let's be honest, what value does Young have in this league, they should change the name on the back of his jersey to "FILLER". The MIN 2nd does have some value but that wouldn't even get you Korver IMO.

Re: Trade Thread 2017: Not Once, Not twice, But Thrice!
another thought I'd like to share. I hate going back to this past summer and the Durant sweepstakes, but I feel like Danny missed out on Durant because he hadn't yet secured another star player, more specifically Jimmy Butler. It would have been a little risky to overpay for Butler without landing Durant, but I feel like Durant ultimately signed with Golden State because they already had their team together and Durant was the missing link. Danny and the Celts signed Horford, sure, but IT/Horford wasn't quite enough for Durant to be like, "that's where I need to be". Whereas if Danny acquired Jimmy on draft night for say, Smart/Jae/both BK's then Durant is looking at our situation and thinking, "man, Danny means business. We can beat LeBron and win some rings now. All I need to do is sign on the dotted line."
The point I'm trying to make is I feel like Danny might have to pull the trigger on a mega deal at the deadline or on draft night in order for Blake to be like, "okay, this hasn't worked out in LA...That Boston situation looks really good for my career and my chances of winning rings."
Danny should pick up the phone and offer Smart, Jae, Young both BK's and Zeller to the Bulls for Jimmy Butler. I was against that price tag this summer because I wasn't 100% sold on Jimmy Butler being a super star...but he has proven once again that he's the type of guy that just continues to get better and better. Much like IT and AB.
Boston would have IT/Butler/AB all in the beginning stages of their primes. Horford on the back 9 of his prime. A very talented Jaylen Brown that has a high upside. Then you go out and sign Blake or whatever you feel is the final piece to the puzzle.
This scenario works with Paul George or DeMarcus Cousins as well if Danny feels like those guys are the guys you want. Only different is if you go DeMarcus then you probably don't have to pay quite as much, and then you go for Hayward in Free agency instead

Olynyk is in the rotation on a playoff team with home court advantage. Nurkic is benched on a bad team (that's only looked decent since he hit the bench). If he had any trade value he'd be gone already, really.
