Come on guys. Y'all are doing it wrong. Just blame Thibs, leave the players alone. It's his fault. Let's all wish him unwell and beg Smitch for forgiveness. Hallelujah.

The rest of the time he's just too high and doesn't really care and isn't motivated enough. Let's be honest the guy has had effort issues his entire career. Can a leopard change his spots? I feel this guy needs some mentor/motivator/sports psychologist that can get thru to him. KG's antics clearly didn't impress him much like they it did with KAT.
That pretty much sums it up on Wiggins. Talent isn't the issue but desire is. Some nights he just sleep walks out there. I really didn't want to consider the weed thing but how can you not? My guess is Thibs will eventually get to him and he'll be better but it's doubtful he'll ever totally get it.
That said I wouldn't trade him or Lavine. No one guy is responsible for our losses. Plenty of blame to go around.

In the bulk of those high scoring games, hes often carrying the worst +/- among the starters.
So just maybe wiggins isnt the main reason we have lost all our games per your suggestion.
Personally, i attribute most of the losses to our lack of defense. But, that might just be me.
Hope you watched the game tonight. Wiggins was 2-15, 8 pts. And guess what we lost! Big surprise. Oh and he gave up the game winning points at the end.

True, Pop would have benched him.

Wiggins is best served as a 3rd option. He doesnt have the mentality to lead a franchise, yet he is good enough to be a great 3rd option. Needs to turn into an elite 3&D guy. Hustle on defense for once, then be able to hit the corner 3.
Lavine should be the #1 option with Towns as 2.

I just don't think he'll get it unless he gets benched. I wish he had a Luol Deng type player to take his minutes.

This. Trade him as long as people still think that he's an elite prospect before realizing that he's rather a high volume chucker that delivers absolutely nothing else when his shot is not falling.

Re: The Andrew Wiggins Thread
Why is Giannis a lot better than Wiggins?
I mean seriously. Giannis was just one year earlier and 3 inches taller. Both are thin for their height though Giannis grew muscle last year while Wiggins couldn't even get to 210 lbs.
Giannis became a great rebounder and passer while he uses his length and athleticism for defense. He also has a pretty good court awareness and is passionate on the floor.
The only thing Wiggins has over Giannis is shooting and Wiggins isn't even as consistent with his shooting as Giannis with his slashing.
Don't get me wrong, Wiggins is my #1 favorite player but watching him is just so getting more frustrating every day. Does he not love basketball that much? Is he playing out of his position?
One thing take in to account is this: When Giannis entered the league, he was assigned to do everything that is not scoring. When Wiggins entered the league, he was assigned to be the main scorer of the team. I think this affected the difference in development. Both were raw as hell but Giannis had the better course outline.
Honestly, I believe he should be an SG. It's so obvious. He wants to be Kobe and he wants to shoot the lights out and dunk sometimes while keeping a Kawhi Leonard demeanor.
I think as of now he should just work on three things primarily
1. Muscle mass/strength
2. Ball-handling
3. Court awareness (easier said than done)
Passing and rebounding will come once court awareness improves.

Giannis looks like he's gained a lot of muscle and I think he's very close to 7 feet tall with a 7'3 wingspan. Giannis just has a much higher motor than Wiggins, better IQ on both sides of the ball, more skilled, more athletic.

I'm gonna stick with Wiggs until his sixth season, if he fails to become a superstar, I'mma let him go and root for someone else. I had high hopes for him.

Sorry but I think the rest of the league has began catching up to him this season. I've read that he's horrible in hustle stats such as deflections and could end up turning into a Rudy Gay type of player, and I'm just a random guy who listens to NBA podcasts. Last season, I heard nothing negative about him. All 3 teams would say no to that trade.

“He cannot pick & choose when he wants to play. He’s a good basketball player. We need him to play like this every night.”
so teammates now are getting on Wiggins' ass for slacking off. Not the first time btw.

This is what Dieng said. So he said that Wiggins is the leader of this team and that the team needs him to play good every night and lead the team every in every game
Wigg is a great basketball player. He cannot pick and choose when he wants to play. We need him to play like this every night. He needs help, we’re all going to help him, but he’s our leader. He needs to play like this every night.

I dont think Lavine will be as good a player in 2 years, and as worthwhile of a piece in the modern NBA.
Having said that they both have very good potential and are so young. Wiggins ceiling is higher imo his athleticism, speed and size will make him un-guardable essentially.
