Pinning this on MKG and not sending help is quite the 180 from last week's fire drill.

I guess it's too late to trade MKG now. Wish we woulda been patient with PJ. I think he woulda slowly got a little better. I think someone would be willing to take MKG if we packaged him frank and a first.

Being frustrated with MKG doesn't really equal pinning this loss on him. There were a lot of factors. There are a lot of frustrating issues from that loss
- Clifford once again refusing to double the hot hand.
- The complete lack of a defensive post presence (Roy with 0 rebounds), the fall off defensively from Cody to Roy and Hawes
- Batum getting torched in the last 4 minutes after MKG was removed
- Not being able to keep MKG on the floor to defend Butler due to his offensive limitations.
- Clifford not being willing to try and go small in an effort to keep MKG on Butler while also finding a way to play w/out Hawes at the end.

My main frustrations with MKG are due to us not being able to play him late in many games because of his offensive shortcomings, thus forcing worse defenders to have to try and defend at the end of games.

Last year with Lee, we could still play him late, while at the same time have in defend the other teams best wing. We didn't lose anything with Lee on the floor late on offense.

Can we find a way to make MKG work late in games?

All that being said, MKG is not defending at the level we all were used to seeing two years ago. He has definitely slipped in this part of his game and I'm not sure any of us are sure as to why? Is it scheme? Supporting personnel? Changes leaguewide in offense? Or is MKG playing it safer in an effort to stay healthy? He's not having the same kind of impact we've seen previously.

Now of course the Lamb fans would love to see Lamb take MKGs spot in the lineup, but that's a different matter.

I like MKG as the starter over Lamb but I would like to see Lamb take some more minutes from the other wings even if that includes. I think Lamb should play a consistent 20-25 minutes every night for us. That's a guaranteed 13+ points per game on at least 45% shooting. It's hard to argue that Lamb isn't a quality player when we have 2 seasons worth of data that the team is a definitive net positive with him on the floor and the defense as a whole doesn't necessarily slip albeit him not being a stalwart.

Until MKG take that next step where he won't be a gunshy offensive liability on the floor then he deserves his minutes to be stripped from him. It's not like we got Hairston backing him up.

Please tell me you're thinking of another PJ that I'm not aware of?

lol no the great PJ HAIRSTON. but I think he was capable of turning into a decent bench guy over time. Nothing great about him other than his greatness
