It will be exciting to watch him in conference play. That is where I'll feel more confident. He absolutely has skills that you don't see everyday, and I can't imagine that he doesn't go #1. He has a Brandon Roy smoothness to his game that I love, and with the right coaching + team, could really become a true leader at the PG position, because the skills seem to be there.

We are a long way from even having the option to take him, but I can't imagine we would pass up the opportunity if we had #1 and the draft was today.

Does Fultz really have the skillset to translate as an NBA 1? He kind of seems more like an undersized 2/wing.

Ball has game but is lacking in the speed/explosiveness department. Wouldn't doubt it if he goes 1 or 2. Fultz is the superior athlete and has much higher upside as a defender. He gets a bad rap because he plays on a crap team with the longest tenured crap coach in the NCAA. Romar is garbage

We could also end up with a useful player with our second if it stays high. I've seen Robert Williams of A&M (if he comes out), Devonte Graham of Kansas and the Lativian Center Pasecniks mentioned going around there. I would like to have any of those guys next season, especially Williams. He is very raw, but he has a very interesting skillset for a bigman.

 No, just exhausted after 3 weeks with no days off, while fighting off a cold.

Hartenstein reminds me of a white Javale McGee. One minute he looks All World, and the next minute he looks All Whirled.

Ntilinka strikes me as one of the longer term projects in this draft, but there is a lot to like about him.

No point looking at Fultz or Ball. Mavs going to be mediocre and almost make the playoffs and end up with a 15th ish pick and another Justin Anderson

I am going to be pretty sick if they keep fiddle farting around pretending that this team has any business chasing a playoff spot. The only team that would trade rosters and assets with the Mavs is the Nets. And they would only do it to get the picks back. Every other team has a better set of assets or young building blocks on hand. And Cuban wants to throw away the chance to actually get a good young piece to build around for a cup of coffee in the playoffs for a 38 year old who might retire in the off season. SMDH.

I would be pretty stupid not to trade Bogut and DWill before the All-Star Game and we only win Games against very bad teams. We will be in the lottery 100%, but probably no Top5 Pick.

And then you dump Bogut to the bench because Dirk is a 1-dimenssional player and can't play along side even a defensive brick anymore. *Like you are trying to scratch out every win you can. So frustrating. #PRIDE

This is closer to reality. Dallas just wants to be good enough to bump themselves away from a top 7 draft pick, while missing the playoffs.

I think Mavs grab Fultz, Smith or Ball if one of them are there when we pick and trade down to get more picks if none of those 3 are available.
If they are in a position where Jackson is the BPA and the 3 guards mentioned above are gone then I could see us trading down.

Yep. That is reasonable and likely. Ultimately, we could get that France PG late in the lottery. I still think it's too early to predict until we get to mid Feb but this is likely logic.

The next 2-weeks is super critical. We have a number of games against the Suns, Timberwolves and Heat. If we can find a way to throw a couple L in there, we could seal a Bogut/Williams trade and help our cause.

This is one of those drafts where it would make sense to take the best player available but I can't see us drafting Jackson or any other SF when we have 4 all 24 and under. Jackson might be very appealing to someone just behind us in the draft and they might be willing to give up more assets to move up.
If we can't end up with one of the 3 top PGs then we can grab a 2nd tier (Fox or Ntilikina) and then hopefully get a useful big later in the 1st round.

Best player available just makes too much sense in any scenario though. Is Josh Jackson better than your current SF? Absolutely. You find a way to have Jackson and Barnes on the floor together, and if it doesn't work... get a king's ransom for which ever is the robin.

Bottom line,... best available.
