The problem is with any Jimmy and Co. plan is they will never be bad enough to get a top pick and always be in the middle of the draft. Regarding Free Agency. Are they not re-signing Mirotic and Taj? Every team will have cap room. What makes the Bulls special except a middle of the road team w/ a lot of internal turmoil?

Yeah, I remember that and I also remember when Rose was cleared to play and sat anyway. Good times. Bucher was right on that one and it turned he was right about a lot things Bulls that we the fans just didn't want to hear at the time. Now we all assumed his "source" was Camp Rose and Reggie.... but, who knows?

He also said that Kyle Lowry was being S&T to Miami and Chris Bosh was going back to Toronto. He was incredibly wrong, just as he has been so many times.

I honestly have no idea why people believe this guy.

Management is in hot water because of the season which the majority of fans and NBA analyst's expected? We are pretty much right at where the majority of people thought we would be, on the cusp of the playoffs and missing the playoffs, so I don't know how management would be in deep water.

But let's go with it, and say they are in deep water because ownership was just as delusion as casual Bulls fans thinking the way the Bulls started should have been the way the rest of the season went; how would management trading their best player by a long mile resolve anything? Find me trades where you see a star player being traded out for another star player? Trade him for a draft pick? Sure, I'd be OK with that, but it better be for a no.1 or no.2 pick at the very worst, and none of this trading for draft rights and falling down to no.4 or no.5 business. I want a deal for a draft pick made after the draft results have been revealed and then we can talk about draft picks.

I just don't see the logic of the management is in hot water, so they are looking to trade Jimmy to make the team even worse. Great logic right there.

Well, in fairness, just because the Bulls were expected to not be good doesn't mean it's acceptable to not be good.

Indeed.

I don't believe they are in trouble, but maybe that plan to blow up the team this summer that didn't happen is still on. Wade and Rondo are here just for a minute, just to fill some seats and make the playoffs. Not that I believe Bucher. But all things are possible.

Buckets & The Brow would be monsterous

Not trading Jimmy for no picks when you have a still very good Dwayne Wade. We should be going hard for the best talents we can aquire this yr and next.

Wade as a #3 is a great thing also.

HOw are you getting Anthony Davis?

Talking about the future. No way to get him now.

Gar/Pax are pathetic. Jimmy's 27, gonna be in his prime for another 3 seasons at LEAST.

Do they have such low confidence in their ability to build a competitive team around that they're ready to get rid of him to buy themselves more time & build in the draft?

What in the world have they done in the last 5 drafts that warrants them even getting a chance to do that?

Fire these clowns ASAP before they do even more damage to this franchise's future.

If Jimmy goes, we should all go support the Knicks. What an idiotic idea.

This is the gist of why I won't hate a Jimmy Butler trade.

My wallet will hate it as I have already paid for the Bulls games out of market.

I will say this, if the front office decide to trade Butler even before giving themselves a legitimate chance to build around him properly would just reek of desperation.

If a trade of Butler was made my a new GM and management team, I could go with it. New management, new vision, new plan, that's fine. But if it's the same management trading Butler just to give them more time to mess things up, even before attempting to build a team properly around him with players that suit his style of play, my fandom in the Bulls would be lowered significantly.

Even though I can admit the faults of Paxson, he did enough good to right the ship with the Bulls that he has built up enough good will for me to stand by him, but that good will is drying up. With Gar though, we desperately need him to be ridden from the franchise - since he became in the public face for the Bulls, it's been nothing but a mess.

If Love gets you the number pick, Jimmy should be able to get the no.1 pick as well. I could be OK with the no.2 pick in this trade, but I want the draft results to be done, and the trade to be made before actual draft night. So if the Celtics for example end up with the no.2 pick and they still want Jimmy, then fine. But I'd still demand assets on top of the no.2 pick.

I was reading today that the summer offer to the Celts was Butler for Crowder, Smart, the #3 pick, and the Celts' pick at #16. Crowder is PER of 15 this year, Smart 11, Brown whom the Celts took at the #3 pick is PER of 11. Nice filler guys but only Crowder really matters for the Celts, and he's more of just a useful player than a difference maker.

If the Celts had added Jimmy, on the other hand, they could being going to war with Thomas, Bradley, Butler, Amir, and Horford. Hot damn.

Ainge turned that deal down. Ha!

IF true this will be the last straw for me. For 28 years I've supported this team but if they trade Butler to rebuild and don't get back a top 10-15 player in return then I'm done with the Bulls and the NBA, I can't deal with the stress anymore

I disagree. Take Taj, Lopez out off this team and I don't think the Bulls will have enough juice to make the playoffs, especially if Butler or Wade run into a multi-week injury. Hell, even an injury to MCW might send the team into sub-.500 territory again -- as "OK" as he is, he really is a important as this team's 2nd best defender (arguably the best defender, since Jimmy's energies are spent on offense, and Taj's trails fast guards these days, on switches).

What people don't get is that the roster the past 2 seasons has actually been pretty good, all things considered. Hoiberg hasn't coached up to expectations -- it really is that simple when you remove a lot of other factors. Yes, the young players are all disappointing and still unreliable, but a good coach maximizes his roster, and Fred hasn't done that when you look at the roster on paper and the record.

Pau Gasol seems to be doing just dandy as a starting on the 27-8 Spurs. Noah for his 2 months was better last year (off the bench) then he's been this year as a Knick. Throughout his ups and downs, Rose had his ups. Taj was and is a reliable playoff PF. Lopez is a reliable playoff C (not very good, but at 24 mpg? Sure he is).

Remove Taj/RoLo........ and with Hoiberg coaching, and a little more adversity (injuries), and this team ends up with a #9-14 pick, even with Jimmy and Wade on the roster.

If a top pick is the main part of the package and Gar/Pax are allowed to make that pick I'm not sure I can support this team any longer.

The good news is that there's no reason to worry. Jimmy isn't going anywhere. As inept as GarPax can be, they aren't this stupid.
