1. Brown, BKN 17, and BKN 18 or Bradley if you can flip him for a good asset or pick.

2. Wiggins or LaVine, 1st

3. Jokic + pieces

4. Warren, Bender, 1st

They're the deals I'd do. If the right return is offered, happy to include other win now pieces in return to help them compete.

Wouldn't it be simpler for them to just resign?

The Bulls chose Gar over a great coach (Thibs). Now it appears they will choose Gar over a great player.

Only if you make the spectacular leap from that Bucher tweet to reality.

Fredell was on the radio with Waddle and Silvy earlier today. Confirmed the Bulls have had ongoing internal discussions about moving Butler. He guessed they would not, in the end, move him- but he stated there is a belief around Bulls management that they are aware they need to make some big changes to the current roster.

They need to add Levine because Wiggins is a BUM who doesn't care about basketball. WTF kinda deal is that?

I've been reading through deals on here....please don't act like it's insulting, it's hardly the worst scenario that's been posted on here.

The Wolves can't trade their pick until it's made, so you'd have to take them off the list.

Well unless they get out of the lotto, but then the pick is owed.

2. If the Bulls trade Butler it means the Bulls are rebuilding. Why would the Bulls trade Butler at $18 million to get Bradley who is probably going to make $20+ million in a little over a year? I'm guessing the Bulls would have interest in Brown and both Brooklyn picks, maybe Smart.

Bulls would probably make the Celtics take Lopez or Rondo.

Any thoughts?

I and many others do believe the Bulls are planning eventually but this year was a last gasp before they do. Thats why I think them trading Butler isnt out of the question.

I dont think Smart is on the radar, Bulls need shooters. They would probably want those draft picks and Bradley or a young player

I think the rule is that they need to have a pick in this draft through whatever means - if that means a 2nd will do, then work a 3rd team to give them a 2nd, no biggie. If it has to be a 1st, either work a late 1st from a 3rd team, or give them our 1st in exchange for Dunn on top of the original offer.

It has to be for high upside young players a la Jaylen Brown and picks.

I am correct that if the Bulls trade Butler they would be looking at a full rebuild?

You are correct. The Bulls are -11 per 48 minutes this year without Butler on the court. They are like Dallas, but worse.

I just don't see how Bradley makes sense given he will get paid $20+ million in a year or so. Maybe a 3rd team?

If Bulls want to do a deal with Thibs who would probably give up alot for Jimmy, Id do Lavine and Dunn(plus some fillers) for Jimmy (and make Rondo fit somehow). I prefer Lavine over Wiggins, seems like he may have more upside imo.

I think Thibs wants to win now

I love Zizic.

I would want Brown/Zizic/BRKLYN picks.

Agree on all counts. If the Bulls trade Butler- they lose that trade- regardless of what they get in return. Butler is a top 12 player that opens your window right now and for the next four years. Bulls- even if they get some good picks- are still at the mercy of the lottery and the long odds they will draft a player who is ever as good as Jimmy. To quote Bill Simmons- four quarters are not as valuable as a silver dollar- not in NBA math. If I'm the Bulls GM, Brown and both Brooklyn picks is my starting point. I wouldn't be interested in the Celtics core pieces- nor would I expect they would part with them- but you do have a stable of young assets that should net you a good, established player. And if I am Ainge- I have spent years maneuvering to get into this position- I give most of those away without hesitation if it gets me a player as good as Butler or Cousins.

It's hard to say who Thibs likes more, Lavine or Wiggins. Either guy who stayed would be a SG, so it doesn't really matter...it's more of his preference of who he likes the most, which every MN fan will tell you....they don't know.

I think you're pretty spot on with both those points there. Brown, BKN 17, BKN 18 would be a deal I think, if management is indeed willing to trade him.

Bradley has been mentioned, mainly as a compromise on the '18 BKN pick, and also because his role would be lessened with Butlers arrival, plus I assume you wouldn't have room to retain him once he expires. We'd only be interested in him if we could line up a deal to flip him for a good rebuilding return.

I don't think we'd make you take Rondo. As for Lopez, he's a good player! If he got included, it'd be because you guys wanted him at C. We certainly wouldn't force him upon you, though. We'll happily go trade him elsewhere for a pick or something.

That would be terrible. LaVine is developing nicely but he has maybe a 15% chance of becoming as good as Butler is. Dunn maybe 5%.

There are some strange posts here. Butler is similar age to Harden, Westbrook, Cousins, Kawhi, a bit older than AD, and of a similar level. OK we can quibble who is better among them but in a similar range. Imagine going to those teams with Warren/Bender and LaVine/Dunn offers. They would hit you with a brick in retaliation.
