Nuh, that's an overpay from Boston for Butler, no thanks!

We could have Butler and Cousins when the smoke clears, if everything breaks right.

I think Butler/Milsap is more realistic

If that happens the Celtics will beat Cleveland. At least on paper anyways. Depending on who they give up.

If we get Butler and Cousins but lose zeller and young, I'd rather not trade it.

I would love to be shocked by something like Zeller/Jerebko/BKN 18 for Cousins, and then we haggle with the Bulls over Butler.

Only way we get Cousins for that is if Ainge has nude pictures of Adam Silver

agreed. I think if a Butler trade happens Boston would deal direct. no need for other teams to leach value.

Nah, it's close to what MIN got for Love - and Cousins has unpredictability that lowers his value, whether he's going to be a good boy or not.

Cleveland's better than us. I'm less concerned about their shooting than their front court - Love and TT can outrebound us easily. Cousins is only player who tips those scales, and gives us an offensive advantage. And Butler is only player with size, strength and physicality to match up with old man Lebron.

1 BKN pick and expirings for each, we're set.

Cousins forces Cleveland to adjust to us. Which is a positive. Your'e right about that. But I still doubt BRK17 is moved because the one player with the on-court skill to really give us a shot against Cleveland (who might be available) has all these toxic off-court qualities.

You use BRK17 in a trade it better position us for a title shot now.

Only the Lakers can pull of deals like that.

Other new idea: Zeller/Jerebko/BKN 17 for Butler, then Avery for Noel/LAL 1st.

IT/Rozier/Jackson
Butler/Smart/Green
Crowder/Jaylen/Young
Horford/Olynyk/Mickey
Amir/Noel

Plus BKN 18, BOS 18, LAL 17, Yabu, Zizic. Best case is the Lakers' pick gets you Giles, Rabb, or a slider.

You could also re-up Olynyk, Young and Amir, and extend Noel, to still have expirings to offer w/ Rozier, Smart, Brown, and the BKN 18 for Cousins, Davis, etc.

Who's going to be the next genius to make a blockbuster deal with Ainge?

I'm just not seeing it. Like it or not we'll keep these top picks for the long haul.

Guess we'll find out on Jan. 15th, when Ainge can deal Zeller and Rozier for Bogut.

More that smart is our backup PG.

True but Rozier was getting 10 mpg at the 1/2 guard the first 25 games so just wondering

You have to think long term. You have to keep Brown, ZIZIC and Nets 2017. Thats the only path to a dynasty in my opinion.

My best offer that I can come up with is...

1. NETS 2018.
2. Memphis 1st.
3. Avery Bradley.
4. Jae Crowder.

and I dont think the Bulls do that.

Is Griffin plus Fultz better than Jimmy Butler.YES.

Trading for Butler puts us 1 small move (read: Paul Milsap) away from being serious title contenders. Much better than being two big moves away.

Can't spell it out now, but need to stop acting like GS and CLE are invincible. Warriors were Toronto-esque also-ran without Kerr's coaching and Dray's emergence. It's playing great basketball on big stage that gets you hype, but Curry was considered a flawed player a few years ago. Butler with the right supporting cast could look great, too. Sun doesn't shine on same dog's *ss etc.

Cavs have Lebron, but he's getting older.

Remember when Pistons won with all-around team, they beat a top-heavy Lakers group that was highly favored and coasted through regular season.

Butler alone doesn't finish the build - & worst thing to do is peak as 55 win team, like Marc Gasol Grizzlies, CP3 Clippers, etc.

But the only guys on market-ish right now who can have superstar nights are Cousins and Butler.

Sad but true. Even fielding both Millsap and Horford doesn't bridge the gap. This is less a reflection on us and more on just how game-breaking Durant's decision was.

Just winning a trade isn't enough. We need to pull off something extraordinary.

As of right now, I'm offering Chicago pole position on the #1 pick in '17. I know that's an underpay given the percentages on the lottery, but I'm not moving off it until someone outbids us. If or when that happens, I'll go from there.

If no one outbids us and Chicago elects to pass, I simply keep the pick and make my selection, and keep hoping for that next Celtic legend.
