We haven't talked much about Dennis Smith around here, but here we go:

He's hella fun player to watch. To me he looks very Lillard-ish offensively and has the potential to be better defender. Oh, BTW he also had 16 assists in that game.

Luka Dončić had another stellar game.
Draft Nate Wolters - FAILED
Keep Nate Wolters - FAILED

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Indeed. Insane statline for a 17 year old in the Euroleague - 17pts, 9 ast, 5rbs in 23 minutes of play. 7/10 shooting.

Where's he projected to be taken in the draft?

DX has him no. 3 in the 2018 draft. nbadraft has him at no. 8 for 2018. Those are very early mocks though.

Hell DL should just offer him a 4 yr 25 mil contract instead of waiting.

I can't believe people are still sleeping on Monk... offensively he can be Klay Thompson+... the only questions I would have is his length on the defensive end.

Also this Kentucky freshman class is really really loaded with very good prospects:

This draft as you would know is incredibly strong so its little wonder Monk is being slept on. Draft express currently has Adebayo at 15, any other year and he would be pushing top 5.

But as for Monk the area of his game which impresses and is overlooked is his transition game. He is so quick down the court and can finish in a number of ways. I think he is the perfect fit for Philly given he he both spaces the floor for Simmons but also gives him a running partner on fast breaks.

Do you think he can be a no. 1 option in the league?

Euros are generally team ballers. Which makes sense for a market like utah. Unless the next lebron is a mormon born in utah who wants to win one for the land the jazz will just have to be the best overall team... and rely on rudy plus a perimeter defender to ward off the best individual talents

Have you guys seen Justin Patton from Creighton? By the time it's all said and done, I believe he might be a first round pick. Very intriguing skillset and physical profile. He's a 7 footer, who is mobile, defends the rim well and is shooting insane 75% from the field and is at 5/8 from 3 this season. Has some post game and very nice touch around the rim. Even tries to put it on the floor a bit... look at this:

Here's DX analysis of his matchup against top-ranked Villanova:

New DX mock: http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-mock-draft/2017/

Top 3 are PGs... Fox and Ntilikina go 10 and 11. They mock us drafting Edmond Sumner, who is intriguing but has not taken the next step this year. With the GSW pick they mock us getting Motley from Baylor(DL's son plays for Baylor BTW so if we get him, DL has seen a ton of him probably).

I am following Patton closely, as I'm a Creighton alum.

Patton's good, especially against smaller guys, but he needs to develop some lower body strength and that's probably a couple years away for him to be a useful NBA big man. Probably going to declare for 2018 draft, rather than this year, as he is projected as an early second rounder right now.

One player that I have been doing some research on is Jawun Evans from Ok State. There is just something about his game that reminds me of Chris Paul. I'm not saying he will be Chris Paul but the way he plays under control and creates his own shot for a player his size reminds me a ton of him. I need to watch him a little bit more but he is definitely someone that I would look at with one of our 1sts.

He plays like CP3 and he physically looks like him.

The game still seems to be dominated by wings who are 6'7" or 6'8," strong, explosive athletes who play with a mean streak. I see that in OG Anunoby. I think he'd be a nice complement to what we have. He has a prototypical NBA body and shoots well inside and out.
