Knicks will have to sign 2 guards next season. He might be the only one willing. He will not get traded and prob comes back next year

At least we'd be honest with ourselves, instead of lying to ourselves trying to be a playoff team. The first step is admitting you have a problem.
As of right now we're a playoff team, and a couple games ago we were the third seed, so I don't see how we're lying to ourselves
It could go either way at this point, we could go on a winning streak and be right back up there or fall out of the race. Either way, we won't be good enough to compete for a ship or bad enough to get a high pick, so we go the proven way of try to win as much as you can until you get the right talent and fit around your franchise player(s).
I'm not on team tank, and pretty vocal about it, but I'll be here next year if we win 30 games or if we win 50, which is about the range we could go. Rose is the most likely option at PG next year, whether we like it or not, same way as Melo isn't gonna be traded, and Noah's here to stay, like it or not.
And really, Phil had no option to tank last year, as it would have been pointless because we didn't have our pick. So this year, KP and the team was too good even without Melo to tank, so it was off the table to start, so we just have to hope either
A. Phil continues to improve as president and we get talent around KP, or
B. Phil leaves and Dolan chooses a good replacement.
I don't trust Dolan to choose a good president, so we're stuck with Phil for the time being, too

f*ck it, i'll say it.
This team plays extremely similar to the Isaiah Thomas Knicks that had Marbury, Crawford, and Z-Bo. Isolation, rucker park hoops. This is a recipe for failure waiting to happen.

The defense has been bad yes but offensively, I said this before the season started, Phil put together a bunch of low percentage inefficient shooters, Jennings, Rose, Melo, even KP doesn't shoot a very high percentage for a big man. In this day and age where everything's about advanced stats, things like shooting efficiency, PER do matter.

if he was lost for nothing tomorrow, the team would win more games .. barely beat one of the worst teams in the league 2 straight .. should have been 20 point blowouts (and would have been with an avg pg that could actually run an offense)
You will all be crying for his dismissal once the knicks play a few decent teams and get smacked
He hurts the team.. should have listened to bulls fans
Stop reading box scores and actually watch a game or two.. there is no way a sane individual could watch this guy consistently and claim he is a positive .. pg head down out of control killing the offense
Wake up
like i said, check back to my post when the knicks start getting smacked by real teams (while rose continues to try to get his, all at the expense of the team)
the rose supporters are going to feel very foolish

It's probably gonna take at least 10-15 mil to keep him, considering what 3 and D wings get these days
I'd be okay with BJ coming back as a backup, too

A figure that would be a lot easier to stomach if we weren't stuck paying the ghost of Joakim Noah and Courtney Lee over 30 million a year.

Well, think of it like this
Our center rotation costs us 21 mil between Joakim, KOQ, and Willy, which is pretty palatable especially with Joakim rounding into form over the last 7 or 8 games (hopefully this is a revelation not an abberation as Clyde would say)
Then our SG rotation would cost us max 27 mil between Lee and Holiday. Personally I think Lee is underpaid, as he is a great 3pt shooter (around 45% IIRC), and is a solid defender, so 12 mil for him is pretty good
SF would be our most expensive at ~30 mil, Melo LFT Kuz
PF is really just KP so assuming we get a backup with one of our 2nds, like 8 mil
PG we'd probably get with our first, so 15 mil between them and BJ
Obviously these figures are approximations, but still not terrible

your numbers are off
SF 36
Center 23+
Agree on Courtney Lee it was a good deal at the time and still is.

Yeah, you right, just did quick math in my head, didn't actually look up the numbers
I just hope that if we continue to go into a tailspin that we keep Lee for when we start to get better

I mostly just disagree with the concept of tanking, that being bad for long enough will eventually get you to be good. With that being said, I would not be opposed to trading Melo because this team without Melo would be bad enough to get a good pick, and then next year would have a good foundation for our youngsters to grow into

trade Melo and rest KP for 20 games this season and put Rose on a train and there's still a shot at those ping pong balls
