Watching this team defend is extremely painful. Thank god, we're only two years away from escaping basketball hell. There is light at the end of the tunnel and his name is Marvin Bagley III. 2019 can't come soon enough.

It's clear to see that Kenny is about to start putting guys in the dog house once Lin comes back and LeVert is cleared for more minutes. Our defense should be much better if our 1-2-3 line up is Lin/LeVert/Hollis-Jefferson or Harris. I'm fine either way just as long as LV/Harris/RHJ take all of the minutes from Kilpatrick and Bojan. Their defense is seriously way too bad to be playing them heavy minutes. If we had more talent on the roster you can get away with guys like that but if we want to have a good 2nd half of the season Lin needs to stay healthy and LeVert and RHJ need to get tons of PT.

Bigs: Lopez, Booker, Hamilton

Wings: LeVert, Harris, RHJ (who will play SF and small ball 4), Kilpatrick (let him play, but cut his minutes down).

Lin/Whitehead

and that's it. 9 man rotation. No one else needs to play unless Kenny wants to get McCullough some NBA reps and in that case, that should come at the expense of Kilpatrick's minutes. He's got to compete on defense or his offensive output really doesn't matter.

I also would experiment with LeVert running PG at times when Line is out, or also using Lin/Whitehead in the backcourt at the same time in some line ups. we need to give minutes to guys that will defend.

I need to see where McCullough is at defensively as well. Bring him up and experiment with some small ball line ups with Booker at the 5, McCullough at stretch 4. we know who can play on this team and who can't at this point, no need to keep giving time to guys who don't want to compete defensively.

We'll be fine. By then, our younger players will be a little more seasoned, we'll have flexibility (i think?) and we'll be in control of our picks again.

I don't think we'll be tanking by then but we'll see. we won't be this bad for another two years.

Missed the game but there's a lot of juicy nuggets from looking at the boxscore:

- Every single person on the team took at least one 3PT! And every single person made at least one 3PT, except Foye!
- Booker was 2-2 on 3PT, I'm seeing his confidence going up!
- The return of Justin Hamilton, this is huge.
- Dinwiddie seemed to have a good game stat wise, though it was against the Pacers bench. He also got the most minutes.
- Bogs sucked again it seems, got only 12 minutes, is he in the doghouse?

What did the eye test show from the game?

Booker is 6-10 on 3PT in his last 3 games, and shooting 34% on 3PT for the year. Get that volume up!

Good try but same crap holding us back....

hitting 3s or not, Brook is apparently allergic to the box on the offensive end. Even when he's not shooting the 3, i saw frequently(as every game) him standing by the arc giving the team no chance for an off rebound....

i mean, cut that crap out. it just annoys me more and more.... bring back some fundamentals...

Tracking Players performance vs Pacers

By GCP
Hamilton - 43
Kilpatrick - 28
Booker - 26
Dinwiddie - 26
Bennet - 16
Lopez - 15
Scola - 14
CLV - 14
Harris - 13
Whitehead - 9
Foye - 7
Bogdanovic - (-3) - first time I am seeing such a high negative in this set of stats.

Best offensive and defensive efforts - nothing worth to report about.

Opponent's GCP for interest
M.Tur - 66
J.Tea - 58
P.Geo - 49
G.Rob - 46
T.You - 20
A.Bro - 11
K.Ser - 11
CJM - 6
A.Jef - 2
L.All - 1
J.You - 1
M.Ell - (-2)

Best 5 players average comparisons Nets (28) vs Pacers (48) - so a loss is within expectations.
Stability is a myth perpetuated by the agents called homeostasis and status quo....

Return to Brooklyn Nets
