I haven't done the math on this one like I have for some games in the past, but Green didn't get 121 yards on Norman, he got probably closer to 60 or 70 on him and the rest on the other parts of the Redskins sorry ass defense.

So please, please show me where Josh Norman has "given up big play after big play" to elite receivers "all season long". If you can't make a real case and all you do is read and re-post the headlines of blogs run by bitter Giants fans, that is called trolling.

And - I watched the game and thought Norman held his own against one of the best in the business. Even Revis in his prime would have had his hands full yesterday and anyone in the league this season would have as well.

There are no Woodsons or Deions in the league right now.

This is exactly it. I'm not saying that Norman is the GOAT or that he's even necessarily one of the top two or three CB's in the league right now. But he is a damn good CB who would make any team he is on a better team, no question. It's just remarkable how many people really don't understand how football defenses work. Just because a receiver gets 121 yards, doesn't mean that the cornerback, even if he is the primary guy lining up across from him on the majority of snaps, "gave up" 121 yards. That's not how it works. Keep on buying in to whatever bs storylines you want to subscribe to, or you could just watch him play and respect a dude who simply can ball.

I have a friend who is a sportswriter for the Salt Lake Tribune, and he is spot on 99% of the time. I trust his opinions on sports above the opinions of just about anyone else. He's also a diehard Redskins fan, and he told me that Norman is the best player on that team by a mile, and that he is worth every last penny that they gave him.

Josh Norman's play yesterday and five penalties was just embarrassing to watch if you're a Norman fan. Skins should have blown out the Bengals yesterday but Norman giving up 131 yards and his bonehead penalties throughout the game, kept the Bengals in it till the end

Ooooooh my. Either nobody reads my posts, or they simply can't comprehend what I'm saying. Maybe one more time here, in large bold letters.

JOSH NORMAN DID NOT "GIVE UP" 131 YARDS YESTERDAY. JOSH NORMAN DOES NOT DEFEND SLOT RECEIVERS, WHICH IS WHERE GREEN PICKED UP MANY OF THOSE YARDS

Make sense? There are certainly areas which Norman needs to improve. The penalties yesterday were his biggest weakness, you certainly have a point there. However as anyone who has ever played football on any competitive level can tell you, a TON of that depends on referees and what they're watching for and how they're calling it. But lets stop throwing out bull **** stats like "This is the -th time that Norman has "given up" 100+ yards. That simply isn't true, he can only play one position at a time, and the Redskins often put him in zone.

Didn´t say that Norman gave up 121 yards on Green, I only said that most of the time Norman had his hands in front of Green´s face. He did so in many games but this was the first time refs called it (and overlooked many others).

That´s no homer post but Norman is no playmaker like Sherman, Peterson, DRC or Peters. He plays hard (an attribute which I really like) but hasn´t the athletic ability to cover a genetic freak like AJ Green.

You are wrong again and are consistently wrong. Remember that Norman got called on a 40 yards pass interference, with that and the other penalties and other plays, Norman gave up 110 yards to the Bengals. Another poor outing for Norman.

Josh Norman goes down as the most penalized player in 2016. With 19 penalties all in all. 15 penalties were tallied by the second most penalized player. Washington also ranked last in pass defense

Ohhhh, so that's how a player's value is figured out? Man, that Drew Brees and Patrick Peterson must be GARBAGE! Same with the entire Raiders offensive line, for that matter.

You wanna know why their pass defense was so bad? It's because Norman was playing with Bashaud Breeland, Duke Ihenacho, Will Blackmon, and a group of POS linebackers. They also had an awful coaching staff (who all just got canned today). There are a thousand reasons why the Redskins defense is bad, but Josh Norman is not one of them. He's one of the only positive things that team has going right now.

If only he had avoided that damn delay of game penalty...
