Their response to that setback was to add Kevin Durant at the expense of the foundation in place. We are seeing the results of that decision and it is bearing itself out not just in the Grizzlies victory but anytime the game is relatively close they are coming up short. I saw a stat that they are 0-5 in these type of games. Coming into the season none of the big three realized that they would have to sacrifice parts of their game to make the whole better and having an inexperienced coach to direct them in this affair is finally catching up with them. I hope the dysfunction continues and the one guy they should never lose becomes so uncontrollable that they attempt to trade him, which is Draymond Green. This is the inheritor to the ZBo crown and the one guy the Grizz should mortgage any two young players and a future first to make a deal for him. It is a mighty big (IF) but him chewing out K.D. was priceless.
I loved the Steph vs. Ellis debate. The best shooter vs. the best scorer at the time in Ellis. Curry came into the league hot. Once the Warriors drafted him, it was only a matter of time before Ellis was traded to another team. For that, the Warriors made a great decision and it paid dividends. Mark Jackson to me instill the motivation into a Warriors team that laid in the NBA wastelands for nearly two decades. Kerr took Jackson's players and got them to the finals and got themselves a NBA championship.
As for the debacle with the Cavs in the finals, that was about as strange as it could get. All those weapons they had and they let the Cavs come back to win from being down 1-3. Call me speechless I guess.
As for Draymond Green being the apparent heir to the ZBo crown, ...... sounds like some wishful thinking due to the fact both these guys played at Michigan State and that these guys are the heart and glue of their respective teams.
