And you're just thirsty for that Melo D, and I'm not talking about a better defensive effort.
Me personally? I'm thirsty for a championship. No one can tell me I'm not a die-hard Knicks fan. 99.9% of the time, I go to bat for this team harder than 99.9% of this board. So this isn't about some Melo fixation for me. I'm simply tired of talented Knicks teams playing ugly basketball. At least during that 17-win season, the team had an excuse, and Melo had every reason to take it upon himself to try and score most of the team's points.
But hey, 2-8 over the last 10 after a pretty good start to the year. Meanwhile, Melo is all like, "nah, we don't need to move the ball more. The fuq is BJ talkin bout?". And, "when we win it's us, when we lose, it's me". As he campaigns for a spot on the all-star team like it's still election season.
Exhibit A on why Bill and I have clashed in the past, but we still like each other.
Because he is a Knicks homer, not a player homer.
Some of you don't have a clue about the difference and try to tell people who criticize your pets that they are not true Knicks fans. I've only seen Melo homers play the "you're being emotional" card when they are the biggest emo freaks by a country mile.
If you're going to be a homer, be a Knicks homer. Every other kind of homer has proven themselves to be incapable of making basic distinctions in debate and are for the most part dumber than a bag of rocks.
I think a lot of it comes down to people like you coming across as wanting Melo to do bad
Like, I want Melo to go out there and be good, I want DRose to go back to his MVP form, I want Noah to be a DPOY candidate again, I want KP to mature into the best player in the league
It's just annoying when people go on the board and openly root for the Knicks to lose for whatever reason
I don't care if it gets us a higher draft pick, you should never want your team to lose
I'm okay with us losing because the draft pick is the consolation prize, but the goal of a team or fanbase should not be to lose games.
I also just hate it when people think they know what's going on inside someone's mind when in reality they don't.
We have no idea what Horny was thinking during this clip, maybe he was disgusted with Melo, maybe he was going to the bench to call in a sub, maybe he farted and didn't want to stand there anymore. I don't know, and neither does anyone who's name isn't Jeff Hornacek, so assuming you know what he's thinking when most of us don't know him on a personal level even is asinine
All I know is from watching this, Melo gets the ball with 6 seconds, waves off something (it looked like a Noah screen, but idk), and then got upset when KOQ didn't come to set the pick for him, so he had to jack up a contested shot. That's just a basic communication error, which is understandable but inexcusable, especially now that we're almost halfway through the season. We have until the end of January before we can clearly say this team has been a failure, as they have had some very good stretches, but as of now it's looking like we'll be picking in the top ten in June
For one, I have not uttered a word about the Jeff clip. I don't actually have an opinion on it, because I didn't rush to assume what it meant about Hornacek's POV on Melo.
Second, in the game threads I said good shot Melo or Melo you fool along with everyone else.
Third, been super clear all along that we needed Melo to play well regardless of what any of us think.
I shouldn't have to spell these things out again, but here we are.
I want Melo gone. I'm on the war path. That has nothing to do with wanting Melo to fail as a Knick in the past. Never wished that as a Knicks fan.
And I do find this rebuttal that we don't know what goes on inside someone's head to be one of the worst debate gambits in the history of the board.
No great leaps of inference are required. Words and Actions. They are all there. Psychic skills are not required.
I will assume you can see these distinctions are clear and not mischaracterize it like some other dim bulbs do.
