Is Tony Parker Back?

Post#1 » by Nolan » Fri Jan 6, 2017 4:22 pm

He's obviously not going to keep those numbers up but he's really been finding his grove lately. He's gotten much better at picking and choosing his opportunities and deferring to Kawhi and LMA while still being effective.

Do you guys think this is just a blip on the radar or is Tony really turning his season around?

He is playing really good since last 2 weeks...taking care of the ball, and being really effcient on the pick n roll or the pick n pop with Pau and LA, while attacking the rim at the correct moment. Also, his floater right now is money again and again...and his jumpshot looks quite decent lately...we can expect that the "20ppp Parker" returns...but this Parker is a huge upgrade from last years' Parker...with him playing at this level or close to it during 24 min, with Patty comming off the bench in fantastic form, with Dejounte's developement, we could improve into the next level with a decent PG rotation.
When this account gets more "And1"s than posts written ...then my life will be complete. And maybe it will be the right time to hang it up. (Achieved on 2017-2018 season)...but still here.

Just a blip but the over dribbling has eased off a bit and as you say, he is making good decisions about who to pass it to and when.

I think in the past 2 weeks , Kawhi has been less of the focal point and rather its been spread around more, and as result we're seeing this Tony Parker. May long it continue

I get the sense that he's finally coming to terms with his limitations in a way he hasn't to this point. Obviously, we need to see where it goes from here, but I'm encouraged by what we've seen all year (minus the first 10 games or so).

I'd have to think that what we will see and i'd be satisfied with is a 12-15points with 6 assists guy in limited minutes who takes good care of the ball with high efficiency on his shots. But this version of Tony makes the Spurs much more dangerous.
