Jerebko/Zeller/Olynyk/Young, does that match salary?

It doesn't quite make it (per the Trade Checker) but if you add any other contract (e.g. Green or Mickey) it does.

Per the game thread, Smitty's source is saying C's could go all in one Butler and Milsap. That's a damn good team, but Cleveland would still kill them on the boards.

I think adding Butler and Millsap would make us a threat to win title. We wouldn't favorites. But it is a team
In the convo.

Boston would be the 3rd or 4th best team in the league with Butler and Milsap, and definitely have a shot @ the title.

I'm on board the Noel train.
Looks like a better, younger, more athletic, more aggressive Amir.
We can use one of those.

I have been making this comparison for over a year. I agree with you 100%. That's what Noel is a much younger Amir Johnson

I really hope we don't go "all in" with Butler/Milsap... if we go for Butler and get him i'd MUCH rather get Noel... Sap commanding so much money this offseason for the back end of his career is not ideal.

Agreed. I think Noel would fit this team better than Millsap, anyway.

Re: Trade Thread 2017: Not Once, Not twice, But Thrice!
I absolutely hate the idea of trading Brown and both our picks for Jimmy Butler (these packages around here are usually a massive overpay!) and all our remaining assets for Millsap. That team would likely be really good and likely would have a decent chance against Warriors. But that team would have quite a major problem against Cavs, they would kill us. I much rather would trade our lower assets package for Howard. He would improve us a lot - exactly the guy who fills our needs and would help us against both GSW and CLE and allows us to keep guys like Olynyk or Jerebko to keep them for either backup role or a trade for a star later. Even if it is risky, I love the idea that we use our luck on 2 top young talents with both these incoming BKN picks. I want to see Boston creating another dynasty. Better to wait another few years when Cavs are worse than now, when we take over this conference than try to beat them and rush our potential.
Or Noel. It makes some sense to trade for him even AB if we can get LAL pick. We then sign Hayward and draft Ball/Jackson and Giles/Markkanen/Isaac. Or something like that. IT/Smart, Hayward/Jackson, Crowder/Brown, AH/Giles, Noel/Zizic. If we trade Rozier, D-Jackson and Mickey we should just about have the cap space available for Hayward, depending on picks too. We can afford to give Yabu another year in Europe or so too if needed to create more cap space. Or we have the needed ammo for a trade for a superstar. Trading for Butler would be the right time then maybe. Or just sign Rudy Gay then... I much prefer a flexible scenario like this than just go all in with Butler in mid-season.

So what´s the latest? We would still be lacking a center there. I like both players but we would still have that glaring flaw at the defensive end.

He doesn't see them getting both. I'd rather pair Butler with Bogut, who costs less and has a rebounding percentage similar to Chandler, Gobert and Whiteside.
Roll Bogut, Horford, Butler, IT, and one of AB, Crowder or Smart out there versus Cleveland. That's a very good defensive team that won't get killed on the boards.

Dat team is drool worthy. For real.

Millsap and Butler is not enough. Butler and Cousins or Butler and Griffin would be the kind of moves that would put us in true contention.
That doesn't mean we should pass on trying to get Butler - just don't see Millsap as a fit.

trading brown for butler is the dumbest move of all time. Brown is gonna be nasty, but more importantly, Butler will not put us over the top.

Get ready for Brown being nasty for another team.
Brad doesnt seem to like the kid and the lovefest around Brad will end right after Brown turns into our own nasty nightmare.
