In considering Malone's rant about having the "worst defense in the league", which players are actually decent players on the defensive end. It's difficult to quantify, although many try. In this case, I'm not considering "team defense", just "man-on-man".
Harris for sure
Chandler certainly
are there any other Nuggets that can be labeled as "feared" or "above average" or even "able to make shooting difficult"?

DA could surely be added to this list, it why Malone put him into the starting lineup.
OG Anunoby could be one NEXT year

Think Gallo is a very good defender when engaged. Although that probably hasn't happened since he picked currys pocket last year.

Re: Nuggets - Defensive Players
Gallo can be a defender when he bothers to try on that end. Arthur is a really good defender as well.
Nurkic is a good defender, I don't know how many fear him, but you can see the surprise in some of the others bigs face when they run into him and he has gotten a lot of them frustrated.

One of the problems with using shooting percentage as the indicator or whether a guy is a good defender is that it does not take into account the whole picture. If Harris is considered the SG then the SG scoring is what is factored into his allowed percentage, but what happens if he is guarding the PG? What happens when they switch and he is on the other side of the court?
The Nuggets biggest problem on defense is not lack of ability or talent, it is scheme and effort, one of which is on the coach the other is on the players.

I think the statistic must take into account of this (the system already it has shooting percentage references for every players).
I mean if Harris defend Klay Thompson at the 3P or less of 10ft, the shooting percentage of KT at these distance are the referements, otherwise if defend Curry or Green.

Isn't Harris touted as a 3&D guy?
Like all of the other problems this team has the blame is spread amongst talent and coaching. Without effort the best scheme won't work.

Re: Nuggets - Defensive Players
Beyond the flaws pointed out above; Harris covers the other teams' best guards and Gallinari covers their worst forward. Harris' defensive numbers will never be as good as Gallinari because of whom he is guarding (implied above, stated here).
If I read this thread right so far, our best defensive team would probably be:
Nurkic
Arthur
Chandler
Harris
Murray
with Barton & Jokic as backups
Not much discussion on PG though.
We've all seen Gallinari lock down on someone great near the end of the game and he can be very good. Too bad he usually plays "James Harden defense".
Personally, I believe Faried is a better defender than his reputation, but he's definitely not at the same level as Arthur.

please, sorry but this is a bullsxxt
1) If Gallo and Chandler defend respectively 6.3 and 6.2 Field Goal Attempted (per game) and Harris 4.8, I desume that Gallo/Chandler defend the best shooters from outside (>15 ft)
2) The shooter against Gallo has a percentage of 30.1% and against Harris has a percentage of 53.9% (nearly a percentage in restricted area)
Or this datas are bullsxxt or this season the eye test on Harris is defective.

That's your opinion - Harris is commonly recognized as an excellent defender - National broadcasters/former players included

many National broadcasters/former players called Porzingis a bust in the draft
my opinion is based on data (defense man-on-man)
all other commonly recognized guard defenders:
- Dellavedova -6.1%
- Beverley -5.6%
- Tony Allen -5.3%
- Jrue -5.2%
- Klay Thompson -2.4%
- Harris +15.2% (point out that I'm a big fan of Harris but maybe his reputation of excellent defender at least this season it's not real)
