Smart move. Guy wasn't worth the roster spot. Cho was nice enough to keep him around this long. The charity is over.

Re: Welcome to Charlotte Aaron (?) Harrison
From what I can tell, and I'm not 100% sure, it would appear that since we didn't use all four "affiliate player" designations in the preseason we can use the last one to keep him in Greensboro.
Tobey, Sulaimon, and Ellis were the other three, Andrews would've been fourth but signed overseas.

I would think that the reason for the release has more to do with the deadline date than with any possible moves incoming. If they didn't release him soon, the contract would become guaranteed for the rest of the season.
If they do sign anyone, I imagine it will be to 10-day contracts for tryouts. I believe 10-contracts start being an allowed option sometime this month. They wouldn't want to be locked into guaranteed money for the rest of the season immediately.
Reportedly, there's no immediate plan to sign someone, so I imagine Cho will wait for the advent of the 10-day contracts being allowed before making any move to fill the empty roster spot.

Was curious after your post to check the roster for tonight's game; Harrison's not on it. Archie Goodwin starting at SG
