The Starting to see some Positives thread
Reggie is starting to like he did last year. His play lately has given me some hope. We sit 18-21. We really do need to go on a run soon though to turn this thing around. When Drummond is engaged and playing hard, he's still pretty damn special. Tobias Harris has become a legit offensive threat that can almost score at will. It really does make me wonder if he needs to be getting more shots. Stanley Johnson's numbers don't look good, but his play of late still has me encouraged that he is getting better. Caldwell-Pope I view very similar to Harris, we know he can defend but his offense has gotten much better and we need to draw more plays for him. We aren't where we need to be as a team yet, but there has been some noticeable improvements. Boban needs to take over as our backup center, Baynes needs moved. Marcus Morris is in a slump and it's hard to gauge why. If the right trade came along, I'm all for it, because this team still seems to be missing primarily shooting. We need a knock down shooter on this team. I've been pretty upset with this team this year and so have some of you, writers, and anyone else that saw this team making a leap this year. We are not out of this yet. These next 3 weeks will determine our season this year. Hope our guys are up for it.

Reggie/Dre/KCP are balling lately.
I'm all aboard the playoff train, I think we can make the ~6th seed and win a round.

I'll get happy when/if we get over .500, 2 wins when the opponent shot lights out ain't convincing.

Re: The Starting to see some Positives thread
I think this team can turn it around. No doubt it's been a disappointing season, but I'd like to think at least part of the struggles are due to a). RJ taking time to get 100%, and b). adjusting him back in the lineup and finding the right rotations.
They've won 3 of their last 4, and RJ looks like his old self. We have a decent sample size that shows this core can be effective (last season), and our bench is better. I expect things to even out in the coming weeks, and wouldn't be surprised if this team starts rolling out some wins.
We've played 39 games this season, 18 with RJ back in the lineup. Of those 39 games, 20 were against teams with a winning record. No question this team has put in some awful performances, but the schedule hasn't exactly been ideal.
Now look at the remaining schedule. After the road trip, they play 14 games until the All-Star break. 9 of these are at home, and none of the road games are against West teams. Of the 43 remaining games, only 17 are against teams currently with a winning record.
The schedule gets easier, and the team is playing better. I expect them to start winning games and climb up the standings in the coming weeks. If not, there's plenty of time before the trade deadline to make a move if needed.

Re: The Starting to see some Positives thread
The #Pistons' longest win streak this season is 3, which they've done twice. They'll go for 3rd straight win tonight vs. #Kings.
We need to string together a longer win streak than 3 too to realistically get back in this.

It's funny, when Dre dominated Whiteside, Dwight, and DeAndre in quick succession earlier this year everyone was saying "oh, he only tries against good players". Now, he does it against lesser opponents and they write that off too.
Some people will always try to look at it negatively.

Yeah I don't get it. But I do think Dre needs to actually get that 8-10 foot jumper/floater kinda like that shotput Al Jefferson has. That way when he catches the ball on the pnr and turn and he's already in the paint but his path to the basket is impeded by the rotating defender or even his man recovering he can just turn and drop that floater.
If he catches it in the post and turn and face, if the guy backs off respecting his drive then he can drop that floater in over their heads. That'll open up his drive game even more which is actually already pretty good.

How is it negative? He went up against some of the weakest centers in the league our maxed out star should dominated those guys 10/10. Trying to call out people on stats against bench players ain't a good look.

Re: The Starting to see some Positives thread
Playoffs are totally realistic. It seems like there is Cleveland and Toronto, and then everyone else. Getting to #6 needs to be our goal if we realistically want to win a round.

Re: The Starting to see some Positives thread
Yeah, I wonder why Howard had a terrible game? We all know Andre isn't always as engaged as he ought to be, but when he is it can be pretty remarkable. He now has a hook with either hand, and is making some nice mid range push shots. Despite the "black hole" comments, his assists are up nicely this year. That's light years from where he started. A lot of people want the finished product because he got paid, and it does increase expectations and pressure. Lots of positives. RJ playing well. SJ better playing the role the team needs him to fill. Harris providing some good scoring off the bench. I was hoping RJ's return would be more seamless, but alas. At least it seems more interesting than hopeless of late.

I mean't Andre had a terrible game 5/12 with 6 tov. I don't expect a finished product I just wanted him to become a rim protector and keep up the O rebounding cause that is waayy more valuable IMO than hook shots. 14-15 Drummond + rim protection is a better player than current Drummond imo.

Okay, I see what you mean. Still, 5/12 isn't horrible. He didn't really lose the match up. Howard 10 pts and 15 rebs and Dre 15 pts and 15 rebs? Yes, 6 TOs isn't good but I recall the Hawks were allowed to paw at him pretty aggressively during this road game. In the long run, Drummond developing a real post game would add a lot to the Pistons' ceiling. He does drive me crazy sometimes too, but he has shown progress in a number of areas.

Did you miss the part where he has outplayed really good centers too?
