It's reasonable to expect MM will work his way out of the current slump. I don't think his overall game has deteriorated. In a way it might be hard to trade him as his contract is well below his current market value?
Stanley seems to be bouncing back from a slow start to his sophomore year. Getting better at playing the role coach wants from him for this team. Good to see him busting it on defense, and being more judicious about shots. Some really good defensive games of late. Unless the season remains a great disappointment I doubt we'll see him start. If it ultimately ends up with a youth movement then almost surely.

Once Mooks shots start falling again we're going to be very difficult to beat, the quicker that happens the higher we rise in the standings.

Re: Marcus Morris Discussion
My problem with Mook is that he never tries to break out of a slump by trying to get easier buckets. He just tries to get out of it by taking that same step-back ISO shot with a hand in his face more and more until one happens to go in. There is no ball or player movement whatsoever, so there's no opportunity for a rebound, which just adds to it.
I think he's good to have on the floor at times as a bailout option, but I hate when he gets the ball early in the clock and you know exactly what is about to happen.

Re: Marcus Morris Discussion
It's time to move on from Mook, imo. I understand that he was a very good piece for us last year, (though his shooting numbers were a bit skewed from an insanely hot finish to his season,) the team is moving in a different direction. The addition of Leuer, Reggie's return, and the emergence of KCP and Harris as legitimate go-to options on offense have rendered Morris's ISO-heavy game somewhat counterproductive.
Don't confuse what I'm saying now. I believe that Morris is a solid 2-way player who can get hot & bailout a stagnant offense. The problem is, I personally feel like he is the one who is stalling the offense this time around. He likely would flourish in a smaller role on a contender, and I think VanBower should heavily consider a move.
Just my $0.02. I'm sure I'll have many of you disagree.

Mook would be a solid bench player, but I feel his ego would make him a chemistry killer if he was dropped to 20ppg.

Re: Marcus Morris Discussion
I don't like the way Marcus shoots the ball. It's way too flat, and that's pretty much how he misses (and has been missing) a ton of attempts. That long buzzer-beater the other day was probably his best looking shot of the season because he got air under it. I don't have a ton of faith in him ever being a guy you would rely on taking and making a jumper. But that's all he does right now.
He's going to be hard to trade though unless someone on a rookie contract is coming back. Adding Baynes isn't really a sweetener given his poor play and impending player option.
It's a weird situation. To be resolved there needs to be tinkering by all parties involved. Better coaching and more reigning-in by Van Gundy, and better basketball IQ by Morris. Not sure I would pit much stock in the latter though.

An average player acting like a star isn't what we need.
You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.
