GT: Bucks vs. Spurs

Post#1 » by Nolan » Tue Jan 10, 2017 1:35 pm

When: 6:30 PM MT, Jan 10th 2017
Where: AT&T Center, San Antonio TX

These guys gave us trouble in early December and I would expect them to do the same thing again tonight. If Giannis plays (he missed their last game due to illness and is questionable tonight) containing him and Parker are going to be the keys to this one.

Go Spurs!!

Aldridge not playing tonight.

It's going to be a fun game.
Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”

I really hope Bertans gets the start. With the way he played last game and with Lee being banged upish I feel like there's a good chance of it happening.

Me too, but we know Pop. he is going to start Lee . I'd be surprised if Bertans starts (happy though  )

Well our team defense was horrible.

Kawhi was amazing though, 30pts, 3 steals and 3 blocks if I remember right.

Brogdon is going to be a super solid starter in this league.

Beasley destroyed Danny in 2nd half oh man.
Celtics fan.
We also face the Kings twice in the near future. I think it's time Yabu pays back some of that free money he's been given his entire career and bounces Fox for a nice 2 week ankle sprain.

I guess we can blame this one on LMA being out, if we just want to make ourselves feel better. More realistically, though, where did Beas come from?! Crazy... but that cat going off is an outlier, so I'm willing to write this off as a black-swan event. Gotta get that D to be more consistent, though.

Crazy game, could of easily been a win. The combination of poor team defense and Beasley going off really sunk us though.

A few things I did like though:
- Kawhi - Amazing game on both ends. Had some monstrous blocks and he made a lot of those "it's my ****ing ball and I'm taking it" type plays.
- Pau - I actually liked what he gave us. Didn't score a lot but he did just overpower the Bucks thinner bigs at times and made some solid plays for us on both ends.
- Bertans - Another amazing game by this kid. Shot the ball well, was under control off dribble, played very good defense and I absolutely loved the way he moved the ball.

The bad:
- Transition defense - The Bucks did a very sneaky thing in this game that I actually really liked. They forced and trapped Kawhi on the baseline and once he put his shot up they sent Parker and Beasley up court immediately which led to several easy scores for them because we either had no one back or no one back that was capable of stopping either one of them.
- Just our defense in general - Help never seemed to come in time, Danny got lit up by Beasley and far too many little mistakes in the paint that lead to easy ones for the Bucks.
- Mental focus - We had a few too many bad turnovers in this one and last second shot by Manu should of at least hit the rim.
