Nurkic is exactly what this team needs.

I'd give our '18 first for him

Right. A few things to always look for in a Cho transaction is someone that he has previously attempted to trade for, someone familiar with Clifford when he was a assistant coach, and someone formerly of the Jazz or Spurs.

I'm personally expecting us to make a trade for Brandon Bass or Kris Humphries. We've been linked to those guys in the past as well.

I usually say that to most of Cho's midseason trades except for the one he made last year for Courtney Lee.

Nurkic interests me. I suspect that it would take either Frank or a 1st on our end to get him. Over on the Nuggets board they seem interested in trades including Gallanari as well. Would folks here be willing to trade MKG in a trade that included both Gallanari and Nurkic? What about MKG & Frank for those two?
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

When Juka was on the court last season he accounted for over half of the Nuggets blocked shots. His ability to defend the post registers him as a plus defender, contributing an overall 2.7 defensive win shares in his short career.

The defensive prowess is fairly obvious given his stature, but in addition to his ability to intimidate in the lane, an underrated part of Nurkic’s game is his ability to pass the basketball on offense. Nurkic has an uncanny knack for finding a player with a well timed pass and can make assists from out of the post or while operating at the elbow as well as getting out a quick outlet pass to start the break. http://www.denverstiffs.com/2016/9/27/13048338/-nuggetsrank-no-9-jusuf-nurkic-aka-the-bosnian-beast-nba-season-preview-denver-nuggets/

For me Nurkic pushes all the buttons. He's 22, as physical as they come, can pass, protect the rim, defend out to the 3 pt line. His biggest weakness seems to be finishing, and we've seen what Nic & Cliff's offense have done for Zeller in that regard. Cody is my favorite Hornet, and I think bringing in a bruiser like Nurkic could halp Cody's longevity given the beating he takes.

At 22, Nurkic has got some way to go, but I'd love to see us aggressively go after him.

Yes. Maybe.

Gallanari and Belinelli might be too many Italians allowed on the roster though, we'd have to check the NBA by-laws. I'd be more for Lamb-Hibbert-Roberts and a 1st for Faried and Nurkic though. Call up Munford to give Ramon competition at the backup 1.

At this point I would trade anyone but Kemba to get a second star even if it guts the team. This season is quickly becoming a lost cause.

I'd trade anyone but Kemba for Jimmy Butler. Yes anyone, include Batum.

Cody is a keeper, especially with the kind of extension he signed and considering how the team's frontcourt struggles when he is out.
Batum won't go anywhere with the contract he signed (except maybe the wizards if they agreed to move Beal for him, something i thought about a few times).

Anyway, there is no point moving any starter (except a real star - i mean not a semi retired one or another all for offense guy) unless the bench cannot be fixed. And it would be silly to consider it cannot be. The main question is "at what price", but if Cho is as good as labeled, he should move some pieces (obviously Lamb for all known reasons + pieces) for a good return (not necessary big names, this team needs toughness and this generally comes from good D role players or borderline all stars at best)
I don't remember who suggested in another thread to move Marvin to the bench and get Frank as a starter, maybe that could be another option for now (and everyone should have in mind that BF1 had both Frank & Cody playing together initially).
The starters would look worst at times, but at least the bench would get a decent boost and stop "trading" baskets at best like it has been the case last few weeks.

Frank is terrible this season and does not deserve more than 5 minutes per game. He needs to prove he belongs in the rotation, much less as a starter. He was handed a big role from the outset last season and has not measured up. His trade value is minimal, too, so you have to look at assets like MKG and Lamb to get a good return.

I honestly wouldn't expect a big return for lamb either, unfortunately if we really wanted to add a good piece I think mKG would have to be the one going out

Among options at C much more mobile than Hibbert and decent shot blocker, Ajinca might be available. At least he complains he is not playing in french medias and he says he is ready to leave (he acknowledges it can only be froma trade or a buy out).

A swap with Hibbert would work contract wise.

Thing is this... IF we got say PG13 or Jimmy Butler for Marv, Frank, Lamb and 2017 1st, 2018 2nd, we could make a run for the ECF. Even beat the Cavs and go to the finals. It's not hyperbole, Kemba, Butler/PG13, Batum, MKG, Cody would complete with the Lebron and the boys. Sess, Marco, Roy/Spence complete the 8 man rotation. Too bad we suck and Cho would never do it.
Who I woulda took:
2023: Miller | 2022: Duren | 2021: Bouknight, Jones | 2020: Ball | 2019: PJ | 2018: MPJ | 2017: Monk | 2016: Damian Jones | 2015: Winslow | 2014: Vonleh, Napier | 2013: McLemore | 2012: MKG | 2011: Knight, Kawhi

You aren't getting Butler or PG for that package, so feels like a bizarre strawman just to criticize Cho.

Any conversation for those players starts with a minimum of MKG and an unprotected 1st in 2017 and 2019 (may be able to put some protection in it). Blasting Cho for such an unbelievable offer is crazy.

I'd like to get Nerlens Noel but some other team will give up too much.

I would be all in for hibbert and our 1st for nurkic.
Our pick is probably in the high teen-low 20 range.
I doubt denver does it because they have so many picks but I wonder if 3 team trade would work with philly.
Noel to Denver- Hibbert and our pick to 76ers- Nurkic to us.

Suns fan here, thoughts on the following hypothetical (We'd acquire the Cleveland 1st in a seperate trade):

Chandler, Cleveland 1st for Hawes, Hibbert and Charlotte Top 9 Protected Pick.

No way. You guys have fun paying 35 year old Chandler $14M.

Would much rather have Len.
