Orlando is not special in this regard. But that is exactly the problem. Orlando is not an exciting place for a young person to live.

I'll ask all of you (under 30) this. If you suddenly had a once in a life time idea for which companies across the United States were willing to pay you a small fortune to come and build for them, would a company in Orlando be your first choice? You can go anywhere. Is it Orlando?

The weather is awful nice here where stars can go party boating year round in shorts, so yes. I think some star players like Florida for that. Not all though.

-> Miami

I enjoy Miami and visit frequently while I have lived near Ft. Lauderdale for years. But, it is brutally hot there in the summer. Sometimes 10 degrees warmer than Orlando!

I'm a simple person. I enjoy a quiet bar with friends over a good craft IPA or an old scotch. If I am going to spend the day on the beach, I want to be alone so I can just lay back and relax.

I have never been into the dance club, ultra party beach bash scene. So I hated the few times I went to Miami.

Then again, everyone has their own taste and I never went to Miami as a multi-million dollar celebrity... so yeah.

There are laid back bars all over Miami, Orlando and the eastern coast. You just have to find them or let them find you. I am a hole in the wall bar guy myself. The best for me is my cousin has rented a 5 acre parcel in Marathon, FL that is a peninsula with no street sign just behind a small plaza. It has a cut through with a mini bay where we can park up to 5 boats. The entire property is surrounded by massive Mangroves and a ton of Iquanas my dog loves to chase. He built the biggest wood deck behind his house with the largest BBQ Grill and massive table wiht 10 chairs where friends can chill, BBQ and drink beer where nobody knows you are there. Plus, a mini nature trail to the end of the property where the sunsets are spectacular where we put beach chairs for chillin as well. Use the ATV to bring a cooler of beers out there. It is sweet. I visit as often as I can. But, even better is an Island 12 miles off shore of Flamingo, florida that is about 1-2 acres big and completely secluded with the inner part cleared ofr tents. Someone put a picknic table there. Camp there for a truly relaxing time.
